★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was here for lunch but the place also opened for breakfast. Famous for it Pais Ikan Patin Tempoyak and other malay dishes. Place was clean, staff was helpful, great selection of dishes and reasonably price. Muslim owned and operated, halal certified. Has a washroom inside the premise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Travelling in Malaysia is as much about trying all the local dishes as well as enjoying the sights. Mabiq 2 captures the delicious authentic flavours of Pahang's local dishes, Patin Tempoyak, and Paeh Patin Tempoyak. The Patin is fresh, buttery and the portions are very generous. We arrived just as the restaurant was opening, the space is big, casual, and comfortable. Parking was easy.
This was our 1st visit here and we so look forward to coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Long queue even on weekdays. This restaurant was not as variety as the first one but convinient for office workers to have quick lunch as this branch is self service fully. Also the price is affordable.
Their pais patin is the best so far. Patin tempoyak biasa biasa je. They even sell frozen pais patin but sold out very fast. I bought the ones that have been cooked and store in my freezer at home in KL. After 1 month still good to eat. Worth to try when come from far. But if you're from Pahang maybe you know somewhere better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must go kedai makan whenever we're in Kuantan.Patin pais tempoyak is the best.Don't forget to buy ready-to-eat frozen pais.. u just need to steam it for 15 mins before eating it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The trick to this is to come early, tapau everything and eat at home in your underclothes for the best dining experience in comfort.
Pais patin is to die for. Patin tempoyak is to die for. Even sambal terung is to die for. These people know how to cook!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a random lunch decision. It was lunch hour yet Mabiq (main) was dished out by the early lunch crowd hence we decided on Mabiq 2.
Apparently Kuantan crowd take early meals. Hence even though it was around 1pm, most trays were either emptied or almost empty.
We had to wait about 15-20mins for our table. It was strange that rice was only available in batches of two tubs. Hence we had to again wait, to have our staple source of carbohydrate. There also isnt a proper system when queing, with the impatient nonchalantly cutting queue. Tubs went empty after 5-6 people as each would be taking for multiple members at their table.
Cleanliness can be very much improved within the space.
We chose to have the famous paeh patin and daging salai masak lemak. Hence didnt pay much attention to other options.
Both choices were very pleasing to our palate. Apparently the paeh patin comes in head or tail servings at a very reasonable price of RM15 each. Unfortunately only the head cuts were available for us. It was a perfect fushion of creamy, sweet, sour and spicy. We each agreed that it was perhaps the best patin tempoyak we have yet tasted!
The daging salai was tastefully smoked. Its gravy was delivious despite seemingly looking watered.
Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy patin tempoyak. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! ?
