Taste is acceptable. Sambal ijo and merah taste good at par with other reputable Minang restaurants. Special menu like, gulai tunjang (urat keting) is available to indulge. Good for daily lunch with their reasonably variety of choices.

An alternative for those who can't go the main restaurant, Restoran Ayam Penyet Bukit Lanchong to enjoy ayam penyet. They're famous with their hot deep-fried chicken (fishes are also available), served with unique yellow sambal (javanese style) and ulam. In addition, Restoran Minang Megah serves Minang cuisines which you can't find in Restoran Ayam Penyet Bukit Lanchong.

They have a variety of popular and tasty Minang dishes to choose from. Their sambal is also good and not as spicy as I expected it to be. Great place for people who don't eat too spicy. But also a good place to find authentically delicious fares at a great price. I loved their dendeng!

Very delicious Malay authentic food here, best with the ayam bakar percik. It is very crowded during lunch hour.

A very decent local place to get nasi ayam penyet. The sambal is unique, not typical nasi ayam penyet. Their nasi padang is also quite delicious. Downside is their ayam is not tender.

My wife who is Indonesian, is very picky about the food of her people here. This , she says, is as authentic and as good as it gets. She claims this resto even rivals big ones like Restoran Sederhana. The rendang ayam in particular, is just out of this world. They use ayam pencen (mature chicken) . The meat is tougher but paired with rendang's deep, intense sweet taste is just perfect. The sambal ijo is also noteworthy, its sour flavor a counterpoint to the rendang. The jering , however could be more tender. Pro advice : my wife said, the gravies in nasi padang should be mixed together ala kandar. I tried it, and yes, its so much better. Try it yourself.
