The prawn was the best dish.
Otak-otak with steam egg was good.
The signature squid on hot plate was good but wouldnβt be sad if I missed it.
Tried 2 restaurants when I visited Rompin and the other place was better value for money so this place gets 4 instead of 5 stars.

β β β β β Coming across a restaurant with good quality food, cooked with a lot of heart is a rarity these days, especially in a small town like this. Chef Ah Wei deals with fish brought in by his fishing customers so often that he can confidently suggest how best to cook them. We had our medium sized tengirri done 2 ways, yau zam and cheung cheng. Both we extremely well done, with the fish crispy on the outside but still soft and melt in the mouth on the inside. Sure, freshness of the fish matters but the skill of the cook was evident as the duration it spent in the oil and steamer were spot on. The ham yu fa lan po (salted fish with thinly sliced pork belly in claypot) was also done to perfection, slightly charred, with enough savouriness and aroma from the salted fish. Must try place if you're in the area!

β β β β β Good food. Long waiting time. So itβs advisable to know the menu in advance & order quickly while you enjoy the river view later. Mosquitoes presence due to its location near a river, but you can request for mosquito coil

β β β β β After fishing you can give your catch to the restaurant for them to perpare the fish for your meal! Convenient. They sell ice too for you to put in your ice bucket.

β β β β β Brought my foodie there. He was expressed. The prawn dish- Har Loke is a must. The talent young chef is proud to share his grandma's recipe and even let me watched him prepared it. He selects his seafood himself. I also recommend the hotplate cuttlefish. Anyway just go and let him omakase.

β β β β β Food taste good, portion is small, price is reasonable (ιζΏι±Ώι±Ό sizzling squids rm20, ιζΏθ±θ
sizzling taufu rm13, pork ribs king ζιͺ¨η rm13) ; just long waiting time and their spoons and forks are not clean (oily and unclean dirts). Overall a good try of Chinese food at rompin.
