★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I honestly enjoy my visit to the 1st Malaysian Prime Minister's house! The environment is very cozy and welcome. The whole place is full of information and description on the whole interior of the house. They also have an area for visitors who would like to watch a documentary made based on the house itself. It let you relive the past. Not to mention, the guard who were on duty was very friendly and considerate as he let me and my friends hang inside for some time while waiting for the rain to stop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is closed until further notice due to damage caused by a flood. Nonetheless, an interesting historical site to see for all Malaysians. Looking forward to being able to visit the inside when it reopens for visitors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rumah Merdeka or Independence House, is one of the residence of the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman whenever he returned to Kedah.
The place is located behind Hotel Royale and Petron Jalan Putra, you need to enter the compound of Hotel Royale and it is just behind the hotel from the main road.
Currently it is closed for repair for an unknown period of time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting place to visit. Valuable historical relics are illustrated through videos and signage. All materials are well maintained and still in good condition. Good staff and very helpful. Admission is free. There are many places to park cars inside the fence.
