★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I started as junior student, at this pre Merdeka School in this little village that sets on the banks of the Pahang River . the longest river in Peninsula Malaysia. Durian Tawar and meaning the 'Durian fruit not sweet ' got its name from the presence of a tree that produces tasteless fruit. The red flood in 1926 had caused fatel where trees were submerged under water for weeks. This junior school has produced many good citizens and leaders of Malaysia. Its now enclaved within the Bera District named after the Lake Bera - the largest natural wetland in Malaysia.. still it is..
