Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Sulaiman 2 diasaskan pada tahun 1960 iaitu pecahan dari sekolah asalnya Sekolah Rendah Sultan Sulaiman, Kuala Terengganu yang dipecahkan menjadi 2 buah sekolah iaitu Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Sulaiman 1 dan Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Sulaiman 2.

Sultan Sulaiman National School 2 was founded in 1960, a division of the original Sultan Sulaiman Primary School, Kuala Terengganu which was divided into 2 schools namely Sultan Sulaiman 1 National School and Sultan Sulaiman 2 National School.
