Beautiful Temple. Interesting to see,the different ways of religion. And different kinds of Buddhist. A lady in this Temple was kneeling,in front of the Buddha and shake an holder, until a scroll, falls out,and that will be her message from the Buddha for the day. In one huge round pot, with sand to hold the candles,in this huge round pot,as shown picture, this is as you enter the Temple. Six candle should be burn ? different candles.

The oldest Taoist temple in KL. Excellent experience. The temple was โ€œ aliveโ€ and buzzing, but also peaceful. We visited as part of the โ€œUnseen toursโ€ offered by the Yellow house who trains previously unemployed street folk to become local tour guides. A wonderful morning.

It's only apt for the oldest Taoism temple to be intertwined with the origin of Kuala Lumpur. A place where early Chinese migrants paid spiritual homage, has in present days become a focal point where devotees offer prayers on auspicious days like Chinese New Year or important examination dates. Just a short walk from Central Market, it's on the radar of many foreign tourists as well.

Visited back in Jan before the lockdown. The Sin Sze Si Ya Temple is a Chinese temple built by Kapitan Cina Yap Ah Loy, who was a chinese official and fought on the winning side of the Klang War of 1867โ€“1874. The temple was built to honour the patron deities, Sin Sze Ya and Si Sze Ya, to whom Yap Ah Loy attributed his success. The temple is fairly typical of Chinese temples with a prayer and offering tables, lots of incense and statues of various deities. The place is definitely more for worship and as a tourist attraction, so I wouldnโ€™t go out of the way to visit unless your near the Chinatown area.

There is an energy thatโ€™s different from many of the Chinese temples I visit. From the bustle of people that offer their prayers here to the many servers, attendants and the people who manage and run the temple - thereโ€™s a throng of activities that go on in a very disciplined manner every second, minute and hour of the day. The temple is kept very clean and is beautiful with all the incense seeping through rays that hit the ground from small openings and windows above. Itโ€™s got a sense of divinity embroidered with detailed woodwork, painting and layers of places to worship and offer individual prayers.

One of the very rare remaining temple that is still found in the middle of the city. This temple is very well ventilated and airy. Plenty of natural lighting as well. The staff staff are very friendly and quick to respond. However the only setback is that due to SOP, only 15 are allowed into the temple but for those queueing outside, it may be a long wait. Be prepared for an hour long wait before being allowed into the temple proper. Perhaps it would be of much relief if sufficient chairs are provided for those waiting in line.

Worth a visit seeing as how it's location means you'll mostly likely walk by it several times. It is also the oldest Daoist temple in the city. Like many temples in KL, the colours and the peacefulness will leave you breathless.
