★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In 1960 the building was named the Raja Perempuan Kalsom Secondary School after the mother of Sultan Idris II the reigning Sultan at that time. The building were built in 1905 and called the King's Pavilion and used as the official residence if the British Resident if Perak till Merdeka in 1957. The building in turn replaced the British Residency built in 1877 and was home to Sir Hugh Low, the third British Resident if Perak.
