★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heard from friend that here is the local favorite dining place since long time ago.
Came here to have a look and try some food.
Longest queue was the fried ying yong and decided to try that.
Not that special. They made in big wok instead of per order, taste little too salty too.
Other food like wan tan mee, char kuey teow, lo-bak available too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I see a lot of people didn't mention the kuey tiao teng, and I will say it is one of the most delicious kuey tiao teng I've ever eaten, would defo recommend but there is a lot of mosquito so try to avoid wearing shorts, also if it raining, there little to no place to sit and eat(most of the table are outside) .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want to experience Alor Setar street food, this is the place to come. The Char ying yong, apom balik, loh bac, wan tan mee, loh mee all the food here is nice. The drink Zhe Zhao (青草) is very nice also. Big plus because the food here is cheap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parking plenty (seasonal rate)
- charcoal stir fried horfun / yee mee: famous and good but personally prefer the yee mee. Price range fair. Waiting time for dining in is short but potentially long queues for tapao.
- lorbak: you're been warn about the waiting up that can be up to 45mins at very peak dining hours. price fair.
- loh mee stall opposite the lorbak stall: absolutely NO system and screaming at each other while preparing, such a put off... didnt order.
- orrchien (fried oyster omelette) oily as usual, taste ok nia. Price fair.
- lotsa harmless cute strays around. Do feed them... pity.
- Drinks stall wide range and do order local delights not found in KL eg ceh cao or green grass drink, patpoh drink... very refreshing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good place for non-halal food in Alor Setar, but it’s very messy. Be prepared to wait for your food for a very long time!
It took us to get our Char Ying Yong noodle for over 1h. The line was long and their line of production wasn’t able to cope. In the end, ordered via GrabFood, expecting that it would be faster, but still ended up waiting for over 1h just to get the food ready.
In the end, the noodle was ok only. You can taste the char as they use charcoal fire to fry the noodles. However, apart from that, nothing much.
Other stalls, such as oyster omelette one can also take awhile to bring your food. Oyster omelette was delicious.
My favourite was wantan noodles. Really nicely cooked and took maybe 10min to get to our table. Recommended.
Price-wise is similar to any hawker stalls. The food wasn’t something mind-blowing, but I guess it’s an experience.
