Sunba Retro Bar

I really liked the bar, the drinks and cocktails are really awesome, prices are good as well. I enjoyed the live band so much, but the bar space is small, you cannot dance freely. But overall I enjoyed the experience and willing to comeback.

Popular bar with live music that closes late. Party starts at 11pm & ends around 4am. Rustic decor. Drinks are pricey but they do have good live music. Friendly & attentive staff. Does get packed during peak holiday.

The ambiance was quite good and music was pleasant. Their price was affordable and cheaper than typical bars. Although it could get really crowded and not enough space on the dance floor. I went there with my sister and we were thankful for the security there who took extra care in ensuring our safety. Some of them were quite handsy; but the security was quick to notice. Overall, my sister and I enjoyed our experience there and will definitely come over, next time we are in town.

TOURISTS BEWARE So we went to Sunba thinking that we are going to have a great time. We did have a great time, until one of the locals, for no apparent reason started smashing my head with a glass bottle. I was shocked, because we were all dancing together before and suddenly out of no where they started attacking us. I needed 7 stitches, there was blood everywhere and the whole night was ruined. Upon researching a bit more, I found out that the locals actaully target people there and I have to say, compared to the previous attacks I was really lucky. We did have a weird feeling when we were going into the bar, because there were heaps of boys just following us into it. But they didnt attack until we were drunk enough. Apparently locals purging tourists to death when they are drunk is kind of a sport here. The locals take huge pride on it and beat up a tourist everyday. Shame to say that these locals that are in the bar are uneducated about their own culture and people from malaysia because every other place in Langkawi was amazing, friendly and welcoming. A couple of months ago a guy from england faced the same thing. His head was done in and he was in Coma for 4 days. He did suffer brain damage. Tourists get their head smashed in and taken to the hospital almost everyday in this trashy bar. The weird thing is that the bouncers kick the tourists out, maybe they are scared of the locals, maybe the owner of the bar doesnt even care about this. But if it keeps going like this someone will get killed and then maybe just maybe, the owner will get some sense then. The sickening part of the whole thing is that the locals beat up drunk tourist people as a sport. As fun. As if it was amusing. Clearly this Bar is still in primitive times !

Very nice place to visit. Yet it could get crowded in the weekends. Though the music and drinks quality totally worth it.

Great bar, live music every day starting from 9 pm then dj set till really late I stayed untill 2 am... Start to get crowded after midnight Mixed crowd of locals and tourist Beer was 11 myr for a pint of local beer (tiger) There is also a table to play pool

Good music and vibe. Decent drinks at good prices. But the place gets really packed on the weekends and since smoking is allowed inside, the place gets really difficult to be in after a Point with all the smoke. But, if you like good music and want to party, this the place to be!

Nice bar, We did not face any angry locals as other people did. Crowded place with tourists, they accept Credit card payments for spending more than MYR 50, yesterday was a fun night. There are some disadvantages though; no AC only fans around, no enough tables, no security on doors and no food.
