★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked for 3 days 2 nights- Left after 30 min
Unlike what Agoda had called it, This is not a resort. It is more a serviced apartment. Had we known this and still checked in we would have appreciated the suite, quiet beach, the minimart or the lonely pool and even the slow wifi.
But we were looking for a resort, with choice of food and running amenities and activities…we were in Desaru for 3 days with family visiting us.
We checked in and the reception refused to give more than one key when the suite had occupancy for 4. She did though after talking to her manager.
At the only cafe people were getting served for a teachers’ conference. So the lady said we wouldn’t get food. Reception said we could drive3-4 km and there were restaurants. Again after talking to a manager, restaurant agreed and the food came fast. Choice was sparing but it was fast. But they didn’t accept credit cards and we spend most of our cash we changed with money changer to pay them.
That was it.
We got in the car immediately after lunch and checked in to another resort.
Now lying on their beach chair by the ocean and writing the review.
We discussed, perhaps we need to reconsider using Agoda also.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We got a two bedroom place for Easter weekend. There was a lot of pointless hygiene theatre checking in- the guards made sure to photograph us checking my temperature and using sanitizer, but only me when we first arrived, not my teenage kids. The property is kinda old and is showing its age. The room was clean enough, but there were terrible disposable sheets on the bed. The ac in our room didn’t work on two separate occasions, but maintenance came quickly and fixed it. I didn’t try the restaurant but there isn’t anything nearby so you need your own transportation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall was a good stay resort. Friendly staff. Nice swimming pool and beach. Only one thing need to improve, is the toilet need to have at least a curtain to separate out between the shower (wet) and basin side dry area. So that it will not wet the whole floor of bathroom when shower. It will be slippery and danger to esp for elderly people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has exceeded my expectations. Its apartment 2R1B is spacious. Highly recommended for family. Big pools for kids and adults..nice clear water sea. It's a bit old but I love it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Low quality place for events and also family vacation. The event room is substandard.. When I reached for the Event, the room was not setup properly. The food is so low quality.. Buffet lunch was substandard..
Check in to the room. Room was huge and decorated nicely. Bed was not good. Gave me a backache. The toilet is completely wet and dirty.
Felt grossed to even bath. Overall bad experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The water heater did not work and was not well maintained. Priced at RM530 per night is not worth it with a small room like the OYO room. Cafe service is also unsatisfactory. My family and I were informed that the cafe was still taking orders before 9.30pm and we ordered food before that time and it was received by the cafe staff. But after 10 minutes of waiting, the employee came back to us and told us that the cafe was closed for closing even though it was not yet 9.30 pm and that was very disappointing because we had a small child and our child was hungry at that time. The convenience store also didn’t have many food options and forced us to go out looking for food 7 kilometers from the lodge with our starving daughter. But for the beach we are satisfied because the beach there is clean and safe for children to play.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - 570+ units of room with an array of room choices that ranges from 2 to a large family. I got the Family Suite for a weekend getaway. Managing a facility that huge, gargantuan effort from the management and staff.
- Comfortable bed and amenities.
- I was a hotelier, so the first thing I will check is the bathroom floor corners (signs of a well trained housekeeping team). The rest of the rooms should be clean then. My bathrooms floor were cleaned well/without mold (as in pic). Room, spotless.
- 2 x 80m lap pools and 1 adult + kiddies pool and well kept.
- Easy access to the beach and safe for kids (please supervise though), the bay shore is flat without a drop-off unlike Desaru bay on the right.
- Parking is abundance and in a secure compound.
- The GM and his assistant seen attending to almost every guest they meet. One don't usually see that often in an establishment of this size. Staff, from entrance Security till checking out are attentive and well mannered
Final word: Worth the money spent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If it's not for the excellent biker friends I was with, I would just rate it a single star. During our stay there, it looked like occupancy was good with the number cars parked. So let's hope in future, this resort will be able to provide much better & friendlier service when they have truly recover from the pandemic effects. Room conditions were acceptable but there are better choices of resorts nearby.
