Best Japanese restaurant in Malaysia

M	Morten Ringvold on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A 3 star might not be justified, but left with a slight disappointment. Japanese cuisine is all about the balance of the flavor of the ingredients, freshness, and texture. Of the dishes I tried, the best was in fact a 'test' complimentary with cold noodle's (thin), with a piece of mackrel and a lemon flavored soup. That was perfectly balanced. Found the rice texture of the sushi overpowering the rather soft texture of the salmon. In fact the slightly grilled salmon had a better balance than the raw. The Gyu Don (beef and rice), was tasty and balanced, but the Cold Buckwheat Soba both lacked flavor and felt to 'solid'.
F	Fara Nadia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recommended sushi place and Japanese food in Kuah town.Good for dating or meeting,as it has a privacy seatings.Greeted by the host and assisted with covid 19 sop and escorted to table accordingly. Service was fast. Given choices of hot /cold green tea & refillings. We were given some refreshments of home made sauce +finely chopped cabbage as part of the complimentary appetizer experience. Food plating were nicely accordinated. Payment by cash / card is available. Love the matcha ice ?! It's just not too sweet at all and a great way to cleanse your plate too. The only thing that is needed to improved is the staff need to at least introduce us to the food,as we were given food on the table without knowing which one ordered what . Other than that ,service was great ?? .

But turns out it serves halal food (this place dont serve pork n alcohol) and the price worth. They have a lunch set which only cost me rm29/set. Really love the ambiance. Really love the salmon sashimi ❤️

To be really full, expect to spend rm100 for 2 people. Here is what we ordered - sushi lunch set menu. This is worth the price. - grilled fish set menu. The fish was very fresh and grilled well but it tasted more Chinese than japanese. It was still a good meal tho - salmon sashimi. Fresh and melts in your mouth. Their wasabe is also top quality! - soft shell crab maki. At first we thought this was a little pricey, but the serving size for this is big. Enough to be used as a main meal for 1 person. We really enjoyed this - beef tsukiyaki. This was done to perfection! It could also be a main meal if you added a rice to this. Our serve was a very nice malay man who was great with giving reccomendations. Staff a well trained. Toilet is clean. Green tea is refillable. Oh and there's a well priced duty free store next door!
N	Nicole Nat on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped into Tokyo Restaurant with a lunch time menu. The menu is rather limited. The miso seafood soup was rather smelly. What’s worth saving was just the sashimi or sushi platter.
