β β β β β Istiadat Custom Museum is located in the town of Alor Gajah, Melaka, Malaysia, next to Alor Gajah Municipal Council Keris Tugu, about 25 km from Melaka Town. Traditional Malay House architecture is the main identity of the museum. The main focus of the museum includes the early history of the Alor Gajah District including pictures of local figures and wedding customs with an emphasis on the Regional Malay. Exhibit materials include cinema, personal jewellery, porcelain and custom equipment. The Alor Gajah Museum was officially launched by Malacca Chief Minister Tan Seri Abdul Rahim bin Datuk Tamby Chik on 19 October 1990. The building was formerly under the supervision of the Alor Gajah District Council before being taken over by the Malacca Museum Corporation. the establishment objective is to highlight various things about customs, especially wedding customs not to be lost in the ages . Other than that, it is to showcase the customs and culture of the multi-racial community in Malacca. The entrance fee for adult is only for RM1, while for children and students, the fees only 50 cents. So, it is extremely cheap compare to others. The operation hours is from 9 am to 5.30 pm but closed on Mondays.
