Having experienced and studied in a local private university and 1 American university before coming to UTP, I can safely say the management here is horrendous. Communication is near non-existent with its fragmented social media culture. Information is mostly relayed through WhatsApp and if you're not in a lot of groups, good luck getting information. A lot of the pages on their sites (and related sites) are outdated, and/or missing. Adding courses and applying for housing every semester is an extreme hassle with its slow server, and first come first serve basis without any merit-based system whatsoever like most prestigious universities. This university only has top notch research and academic facilities, but everything else is a disaster to deal with. The 12-week trimester system is badly implemented. Students & lecturers are both rushing the syllabus, thus skipping some topics in the syllabus. Positives are however, you do get 8 months of internship and academics here are up to par to develop better students. The clubs & societies here are quite interesting. It's concealed cleverly to mostly benefit the university as the clubs are created primarily to organize and hold events for the university, and less about the leisure and development of the student. It's a lot different from the clubs in other private and overseas universities. Food here is average and affordable, but could be better in terms of health and cleanliness. Commuting is difficult because the bus services provided are minimal. There is also no reservation system for sports facilities, which may annoy some people. The internet is inconsistent, but has improved lately in terms of speed. The WiFi is terrible because the extenders/router are not configured properly that you have to sign in into the same network every time you are connected to a different router/access point Also, for a private university, this place is relatively religious (Islam), and that might throw off some people because the culture here is more like a local public university than a private one. That could be good, or bad depending on the person. Overall, there is more to complain than to praise that I could not cover everything in one review. But, do only enroll here if you really want that credentials and don't mind the constant problems you're going to face until you graduate.

I think this is one of my favorite university due to the building model and architecture is truly amazing!! I was here during my ASEAN Student Forum 2018. Also, i do love the most is library!! Best University every

My alma mater.. beautiful universiti. Good place to learn.. Don't really like its strict policy for visitors to come visit. The guard will ask everyone at the gate, even though they just want to go to the public mosque.. pity

Visited the UTP campus with my family to check out its grounds and facilities. We were lucky to have a representative from the registrar office who brought us to visit the iconic library with such a magnificent building structure. She explained about the uni in general and answered all our questions satisfactorily. It was definitely a pleasant and fruitful trip for us. I'm looking forward to my next trip here.

Good University facilities, excellent campus and well organized. Really iconic in Perak, Malaysia.

A vibrant University that has changed the way I see my life as. Lots of thoughts I would like to pour in this review but I believe it will be too much if I say everything out. Just a few words to say: I'm beyond grateful for being here.
