It's a monument for those Chinese murdered by Japanese during WW2. Located at the foot of Bukit Cina.

The Cenotaph is a monument at the foothill of Bukit Cina, besides Hang Li Poh's well. It is build to commemorate the soldiers sacrificed during the resistance against Japanese soldiers during Japanese occupation in world war two. There is no guide here. But there is a written description for visitors. There is no carpark in the vicinity, you may have to park a little further and walk here. I suggest you take Grab here.

Visited in Feb before the lockdown. This monument stands in tribute to the Chinese victims of Japanese occupation in Melaka in World War Two. The monument consists of a cenotaph inscribed with Chinese writing and the emblem of the Republic of Chinese. The monument is typical of far eastern style monuments with a low wall behind the cenotaph decorated with tiles. At the sides are some structures on the ground that look like symbolic graves markers. There’s lots of information in Chinese, Malay and English at the monument site. It’s a shame that the monument is so far out from the centre of Melaka in Bukit China.
