Being an outsider from Karak we venture to their famous restaurant on the main road YIK Kee. Arrived around 2.00 with plenty of place to chose surprisingly. Ordered their famous durian n egg tart. The durian was done well but unfortunately the egg tart could not fared as well because the skin was too hard n thick unlike other shops which are crispy n fluffy. Ordered also their Yong Chow fried rice n braised Yee mee. Portion a bit small but taste wise still above average. They have also expanded their pastry to include buns and cake.

Situated at the main road of karak, parking can be found by the side. Old school restaurant but abit pricey for a small town restaurant so it is best to know the price before you order. Flavour wise is not too bad. They have tarts, dumplings and siow pau etc. Not a bad place to have a standard meal.

Have not been here for almost 20 years. Nothing much changed except the owners have retired and replaced by their children. Prices are reasonable. Parking is easy. Good to be back.

1) Best sang har Mee. Prawns are fresh & broth tasty. Very little or no MSG I believe coz we were travelling to east coast & didn’t feel thirsty . We try not drink too much fluids so as to avoid public toilets during this pandemic . 2) Portuguese egg tarts - IMO is 3rd best after Lord Stowe of HKG & the original monastery ones in Portugal . The pastry could be more buttery like the first two. 3) durian bomb - so so only . 4) the Wat Tan Hor was good too - tasty with good wok hei 5) the wanton soup not too bad. 6) was there on 24/10 Sunday - wanted to go back on Thursday; but was told close on Thursdays 7) environment & shop ambience - nothing to say as it’s typical Malaysian town eatery shop

Came here for Sunday lunch. Tables are full. I ordered a stuffed egg and a fresh river prawn noodle. The tastes are delicious. Especially the stuffed egg, its an old school Cantonese dish that we seldom see from food menu nowadays. Besides these dishes, you can try the roast duck which is a signature dish for the restaurant. And they have variety of pastries such as siu pao, egg tarts, swissroll, butter cake and chinese dumplings (棕子) with huge size.

Prawn noodle is signature dish, but a bit pricey. Selling classic kuih and tarts.. shop established since 1960-an... Food taste ok. The egg tarts, durian yarts, siewbao is nice. Kaya roll seems overrated.
