β β β β β Wonderful calm place to stay - including truly magnificent historical interior design pieces
Very friendly staff, great breakfast - and you can see that a lot of work and effort was made to maintain the beautiful items of the past.

β β β β β You Havenβt Seen Malacca Unless You Spend The Night Here
Beautiful boutique hotel. Tranquil place. Elvina and Callena is very warm to serve us the breakfast, and welcome drinks when we arrived. Right next to Jonker Street, and very close to all the tourist attractions, but you donβt need to go anywhere and can just stay here and enjoy doing nothing. By walking inside 5 Heeren, itβs like youβre in a very beautiful museum.. hoping to return someday. Thank you so much for everything, 5 Heeren! Amazing 2 nights spent here.

β β β β β The location is 5 star (next to jonker street), the rooms are great (depending on which room you choose), looks abit haunted to me but i guess thats how ancient chinese houses look like. The morning breakfast is also superb, however just a tip not to eat too much, as my husband and I could not eat til 3pm after that.

β β β β β Exquisite building, wonderful hosts, and an ideal location.
This is a hotel for culture and history lovers. It's a 17th century Peranaken Chinese mansion, lovingly restored, full of stunning decor and antique furniture that you wouldn't be able to touch in a museum.
The staff are friendly and engaged, particularly over the spectacular breakfast, which spreads out a whole range of local foods. (Don't fill up too much in your first helping, not if you want to try a bit of everything!)
The location couldn't be better - just a stone's throw from where Jonker Street meets the Malacca River. Couldn't be better placed for all the main attractions, and just far enough from the beaten track to be an ornate oasis whenever you need to take a break from the breathtaking city.
It's not a typical modern luxury hotel - if you're looking to relax by a pool and use elevators not stairs, then that's a different experience. But if you want a treat of old Malacca and to feel part of history, this is a place you'll never forget.

β β β β β 100% a truly authentic experience. Rooms are amazing attention to detail as is the whole place. Breakfast is an experience of local tradition and well presented. Staff are so nice, customer focused and faultless. You have to try this place at least once... I'm sure you will come again for its true values and location.

β β β β β Echoing other reviewers, this place is an incredible piece of history. We were the only guests in the entire hotel when we stayed which gave me ample opportunity to explore every room and amaze at the details, artifacts and authenticity of the former family living quarters turned hotel. It is maintained beautifully and interesting to learn about from the staff. Breakfast was also truly authentic local cuisine and there was a lot of it. Staff was extremely friendly and enjoyed joking around with us. Location is perfect as it is just off the end of Jonker Street, but mostly remains quiet at night. Excellent location for casually walking and exploring the city.

β β β β β What a lovely find. Old home with lots of original fix and features. The host made us feel welcome . Breakfast is authentic local food, bot a western one as the host wanted us to experience the authenticity of the city and the hotel. The hotel is close to the famous jonker street, and other tourist building. It was a lovely stay.
