★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Laksa and chicken rice balls.
New lady has taken over the Laksa stall; just as good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two stalls; Chicken rice ball and Curry Laksa was recommended by locals here when we visited the morning market/pasar.
Go early to avoid disappointment. We arrived at 10.15am and chicken rice ball was sold out. We came back again the next morning before 9am.
Both chicken rice balls and curry laksa noodles are delicious.
This is a local coffee patronised by locals.
Prices are cheap and food is delicious.
Shop is located opposite pasar/wet market.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This nondescript coffeeshop hides 3 treasures of the old Melaka locale
The first is the best kopi and kaya butter toast for miles around... I don't often come across a conventional kopi that I'd easily choose over a good cappuccino (& there are a number of good ones in Melaka). Kaya butter toast may just become the next in-thing if everyone can do it as well as this old man.
The second is the chicken rice ball that's obviously not big on marketing like Chung Wah. Chicken n rice balls have that old-timer taste and texture; chicken is not undercooked and has a slight hint of chewy but gives way almost instantly so we know it's healthy and tasty. Rice balls has a texture of dried porridge and I just can't stop at two, despite being particular fussy and jaded to chicken rice ball from Melaka.
Lastly, the unobtrusive laksa stall. The broth was so good (I eschewed the cockles and shrimps) that I just had to ta pau a pack after my first bowl there.
Funny thing how I never found this place despite having been to Melaka for week long holidays for the past 6 years.
The ambience will transport you back to 1950s, with everyone else gossiping loudly, and if you're not early, it's highly unlikely you'll get an empty table all to yourself. I went at 7am.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best chicken rice balls in Malacca! Laksa is pretty good and sells out at 9.30 am! This is where locals eat as opposite market.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an old established coffee shop located in the Bukit Cina of Melaka, an old part of Melaka.
It is a normal coffee shop with two food stalls.
The first stall sells good Chicken Rice.
The second stall is a noodle stall. The Laksa is recommended. Curry broth is nice and "lemak".
The coffee shop serves good traditional coffee too.
Prices are reasonable. Only cash is accepted.
Cleanliness is good.
Service is fast.
Parkings are roadside parkings. Finding a parking lot may need patience during peak hours.
Due to the narrow road and heavy traffic, handicapped patrons on wheelchairs can patronize this coffee shop with some patience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were curious what Jalan Temenggong had in store so we came to try this shop. We were blown away by the delicious laksa! The broth was awesome and the cockles plump and fresh. Coffee was also good! They also had chicken rice balls but they were already sold out at 8.30am! Must come again to try it! Opposite is the morning market for more food and fresh produce!
