★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pekan Muar or Bandar Maharani Muar, Johor...is like a petite old town. It's the old town of course but it has its own charm. The centre is quite bustling however the old building that they preserve here makes it looks enchanted. Yeah, some spot makes it very calming and worth for a stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the attractions within this area. You can easily spend three to four hours walking around the town area and eat the local food unique to Muar. There's an international jetty point that ferries passengers to Indonesia. Evening is the best time as it's not so hot and the city lights provide a good ambience of the night life of Malaysian culture. There are many budget hotels and homestays around this area.
