★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parking is abit hard to find, most people take away but there are places for dine-in, but be prepared to have a smoky barbeque smell afterwards. Tasty o-chien and prawn mee. There is also loh bak, popiah, chicken rice and wantan mee. A variety of food to eat in Penang all in one place if you dont wanna go to gurney drive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This coffee shop is one of the institutions in Penang - having been in the same location for about 50 years now. Located at the junction of Burmah Road and Pulau Tikus Lane, it used to be open throughout the day from the wee hours in the morning, but now it only comes alive at night for dinner.
I have dined at this same place for over 40 years now, and it has remained as popular since the early days right until now. This results in a bit of problem finding parking in the evenings, so it's better to be early, before the peak dinner crowd packs the place.
Probably one of the reasons for the success and longevity of this coffee shop is the fact that the hawkers there have not changed much through the years. They have become friends.
The same Char Koay Teow man (Ah Kow), still fries at his same spot that he did all those years ago. The wantan mee is still in the same spot. Same goes for the lor bak, poh piah, sar hor fun, lor mee, and more.
The food served here is above average and therefore makes this coffee shop a perfect stop to sample the Penang delights in one location without having to dart all over the place for the more "famous" locations.
Prices are always reasonable and you could have a satisfying meal for around RM10 per person (drinks included). I pay a visit everytime I'm back in Penang, as it's a must-go for me and the family, and am always greeted warmly.
That's the charm of this long-standing coffee shop...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Coffee Shop used to be a Pulau Tikus institution for breakfast back in 1980-90s but have since shifted to be an evening destination when Kuching Lane opened.
The Oh Chien (Fried Oyster Omelette) priced from RM12.00 and Char Koay Teow with King Prawns at RM10.00 during dinner session are pricey, yet recommended. ??
Ben Western Food that sells during lunch and dinner is another recommended stall.

Perfect location for the ones that wouldn’t want to visit different places for local delicacies! “One stop solution” for local foood YUM. Personally think the char koay teow is slightly overpriced because I can get similar taste of this from Ipoh / KL bur cheaper price. They’re charging RM9 for small and RM10 for a big plate here (Also expect slow service/self service since it’s being run by an old couples). Recommended for a try but not for revisiting. Fried oyster was yum tho! RM16 with fresh oyster and quick service. Hokkien Mee small bowl but fresh prawn broth deserved to be featured

Came here for Oyster Omelette (RM18). Ended up ordering Popiah (RM5.50) and Muah Chee (RM6) too. Oyster Omelette was good, less starchy. Muah Chee was nice too, not too sweet and nice chewy texture. Popiah was just okay.
We ordered iced Chinese tea too but was served in plastic disposable cups. Wish they used less plastic.
