Berjaya Tioman Resort - Malaysia

It’s 12.30am I am writing a review that I really don’t want to write It’s the story of Theseus and the paradox of the ship, where Thesus ship change for the better but not in the case for Berjaya Tioman I am middle of a 4 nights 5 days holiday. The facilities are extremely aged , granted that you can see repair works are done around the facility, however it’s let putting a hand plaster on an open wound Room 340 . First day the toilet got clogged and the air condition, was working properly . That I can tolerate, what I can’t was the bed we slept in was filled with bed bugs . The receptionist and the workers were attentive to change. 2nd day , the changed bed was fill with bed bugs . I can tolerate sub standard food , spoilt phone , not maintenance facilities, badly maintained gardens . As I am on a holiday, what I cannot tolerate is my sleep being interrupted On the constructive side , the stuff were extremely attentive, to rectify , however as of how much they rectify , it is still Theseus ship To those coming to Berjaya Tioman, can and enjoy Tioman island and not Berjaya Tioman

Welll maintain . Little old but nearer to the lobby is best for kids and elderly folks. The newer rooms are far away not recommend. Although the rooms are newer but spending more time to walk. Buggy needs to wait too. Swimming pool is okie but careful with sharp edges and might be hot ! Bring along your sun block. Staff are friendly too. The package 3D2N comes with free food and beer B/L/Tea time only package. Dinner we go outside to enjoy the local meals

The resort is charging high for rooms and average food. During our stay for 3N4D the resort had booked a guest blogger for blogging on their services & the property. However, we noticed that the guest relation staff/manager was only focused on serving this guest blogger from sunrise to sunset and absolutely unbothered with remaining guests staying in. The pool bar opens at 11, it only opened at 12.30 only when the guest blogger came with the hotel staff. Prior to that inspite of us enquiring, they just didn’t bother to cater us as if we were living for free. I understand the resort needs a marketing boost up on social media, but doing that at the cost of resident guests is not going to work well in their strategy. The bathroom washbasin still have cobwebs & the quality of the toiletaries can improve. For the charge the room size is small & bathroom way smaller. Only good thing was the breakfast buffet. Not very happy with overall experience & one has to think if they are okay to pay exorbitant prices for average experience.

1-2 star maintenance, dirty dirty dirty, bad bad bad. Do not expect what you paid and what they give, you will defiantly disappointed. Just think of it as a 1-2 hotel before you come, don’t give too much expectation on these so call 4 star hotel.

Absolutely pleasant experience of our stay in Berjaya Resort, tranquil surroundings and breathtaking scenic views. Loved the private beach with pristine blue waters. The staff were exceptionally amazing and friendly. Rooms had more of an old charm instead of a contemporary interior. I understand that the hotel has just recently reopened, however, there are some areas of improvement that could be worked on such as the food. Breakfast spread was limited to few items on a weekday morning, lacking variety and pastries, albeit there were slightly more varieties during the weekend. Some food items such as cakes were not replenished but replaced with another dessert. The best is to offer the same type of breakfast spread during the entire serving as not everyone arrives particularly early to have their meal. Another let down is there were no a la carte items such as evening snacks, ice cream, fresh juices or teh tarik available to purchase. Apart from that, pool is closed quite early around 7pm. I bet it would be pretty amazing to be able to take a dip with beautiful sunset and late evening views. Nevertheless, we truly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning again when we can.

What a such beautiful memory I got from here with my lovely hubby, such a wonderful service and respond from Ain reservation and also other staff.. It's quite satisfied and will come back with other family members. Staff are very friendly and polite. Thank you for sweet moment for our honeymoon trip.

It is an old-timer for all Berjaya Resort that ever existed—located at the ten most beautiful islands in the world. Consider the services are equivalent. Friendly staff, friendly villagers, tranquil surroundings.

Be prepared to spend. The resort is taking advantage of its guests by setting high price but low quality food and amenities in the beautiful natural location of the island. Guests have no choice but to pay for RM120 per person for each low class (lower than 2 star hotel) kind of buffet for food as the one and only restaurant operated serves only buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every morning, breakfast is war for scarcely prepared variety and amount of food as the management is unwilling to spend more. All guests are dissatisfied and furious with this matter. However, I have to give compliment to all staff for keeping calm and managing anger of guests politely and friendly. The Management is very irresponsible by putting their staff in a very embarrassing situation while not attending to all issues concerning service quality at all. Room rates are about RM1,600 per night which is another rip off as guests expect better quality stays. When you book and stay in this resort, you are basically trapped and be prepared to be robbed by the Management. Please be patient with the staff as they are also the victims of the shameless Management who hire them. The decision maker of the resort has no dignity and respect for hotel service line. He or she deserves the worst hotel manager award of all time. He or she could have just made a call to any food supplier from main land to deliver more food to the resort. The staff are trained to give excuse that the resort had newly opened after the MCO and monsoon but in fact they have opened for months. Foods do not need more than a day to reach the island. All guests faces are sour at the buffet for my 4 days 3 nights stay there. Poor guests, especially those with big families. Imagine how much the need to pay per meal for a family. RM120 per head for such standard of buffet is simply a joke which only the Management dares to do. There is one thing that I have to give compliment to the resort for going green by preparing glass water bottles and refilling water stations. The resort facilities are run down but clean. Resort is keeping everything low budget in order to earn to thr maximum from guests. The pristine sea water right in front of the resort is the only comfort for the guests' dispair. The entertainment room is furnished with many games though.
