★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finding a property was easy but when unfortunately, when it came to leaving, that's when the problems happened. I wanted to break the lease 2 months early due to my employment pass not being renewed. I gave more than 2 months notice when requesting this but the landlord and BIG Plus properties told me that I wasn't able to do this and would have to continue paying rent. I spoke to a lawyer who informed me that this was not the case and because I was nolonger legally allowed to rent the Condo (as I didn't have a visa to be in the country anymore) the lease was nolonger valid.
My rent was paid fully up to date and the landlord was holding a 2.5 month deposit when one day I came home and my locks had been changed! The landlord had filed a police report due to me not replying back to a WhatsApp message (which I'd already given him the answer to on numerous occasions prior)! I called the agent from BIG Plus properties again and they wouldn't do anything to help me get into the apartment which I had no arrears and they were still holding the deposit. I had to call a locksmith to break the locks so that I could get inside to take my personal belongings as I no longer felt safe there. I never recieved my deposit back either!
