★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found this delightful small restaurant on Google maps after looking for a place to have a coffee. It's bit difficult to spot as it's not well signposted but glad I did find it. Very comfortable and pleasant. Seating outside by the small pool is pleasant and air coolers are provided so not too hot. Great menu for light meals and deserts. Recommended and will definitely go again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cafe 1950 is located in De Villa hotel in Jalan Limbongan, Melaka. The decor is a throwback to the 50s and 60s with collections of various items like toys, old radios, barber chair, historical photos, etc. We were there to celebrate a birthday and received very good service. The food was overall delicious and portions were large. The nyonya tea set was very well presented with various nyonya kuih, small cakes, mini sandwiches and mini croissants. The set came with a pot of tea and 2 cups which were very nice with a choice of teas. We ordered the strawberry pancake and used it as a birthday cake and they wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate and wait staff sang the birthday song. There are many spots inside and outside for photo taking and there is a swimming pool next to the cafe. Overall, a great place for a relaxing and satisfying meal in a retro atmosphere.
