★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Top 3 wan tan mee in Ipoh. Unique from others with thin al dente noodles and signature braised pork ribs in 2 different sauce types - one being vinegar sauce and other in bean sauce. Delicious wan tan and dumplings (水饺）in their tasty broth. Reasonable prices to boot. Warning:addictive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chi Gei Wonton Mee (池记云吞面): located inside Comeson Restaurant Hotel. This could probably be the best wonton noodle stall in town. The wonton noodles are served with the usual prawn-meat wonton. You can add shui gao, BBQ pork or pork ribs. The wonton noodles, whether the normal slim strands or the flat type, are of the right texture and equally good. No trouble for me to drink the whole bowl of hot wonton soup. I found it tempting. Brewed from natural ingredients with minimum usage of MSG (monosodium glutamate). How I know? Well, I didn't suffer from the after-effect of excessive thirst. The stall is opened for breakfast. If you go at 10 am, considered late, there's not much choice to complement your wonton mee.
Update: Late 2018, this premise of Comeson Restaurant Hotel (old name as carved on the shop's concrete pillar) was newly occupied by Lam Fong (南方饼家) Biscuit shop. The Chi Gei Wonton Mee (池记云吞面) stall had shifted to a new corner shop: Memorable Good Taste (回味饮食馆) restaurant, Theatre St., near One Octagon building. You can still get premium quality wonton noodles there.
