This musuem is a must see. It has a unique collection of arts and furniture that illustrate the life style ofΒ  rich merchants of Pinang in the 1900s. The villa itself is interesting. The musuem and the collection are well kept and exhibited in well organized and attractive manner. The guide speaks excellent English and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The owner welcomes the visitors herself and gave us a discount on the enterance fees. Though the full price of 30 Rm is stillΒ  reasonable fees to see such amazing collection. There is a treehouse in the yard and interesting collections of dolls with real hair. If you're in Pinang don't miss visiting this unique place of art.

We visited here when there was no other visitor so it was like a private tour. The guide was very kind and answered all the questions from my kids even if it was funny qurlestion. My kids have enjoyed a lot for 70mins. A lot of detail stories from the guide include value of collections and its histories. Don't expect something like public museum but can expect extra ordinary that you can actually touch and try some collections those allowed.

We had a wonderful time at this example of a Penang Merchants home. The many and various ,very expensive, items of art, furniture, sculpture used to adorn the house offer an insight into the lifestyle at that time. The owner has collected all the original items and feels they should stay in Penang to show a history of the past. Our guide, Eric, was so knowledgeable on all aspects of the house and the history of Penang. Everyone should visit this wonderful collection and learn about the life of the wealthy local merchants.

This museum definitely comprises one of the finest private collections of historic artifacts. It also contains a significant piece of Penang's history. Entry prices are reasonable at RM30 per person & RM20 for students, considering the amount of history on display, literally. The tour guide ( unfortunately, I didn't manage to catch the name of the man ) was extremely friendly, very charismatic and responsive to questions. Highly recommended for visits for tourists & locals alike.

Located a fair distance from the main sites in Georgetown, this museum costs 30 ringitt to enter which includes a tour on demand. Due to the fact it's away from the main sites, it also has less tourists. The guide is informative and photos are generally allowed inside. You can also buy some antiques in the gift shop from a ship wreck.

Fascinating history of Penang and how this private collection of items came to be. Wonderful private tour by the collection manager providing detailed piece by piece expansion and history of the main items. An amazing assortment of historical, private and mainly one of a kind items from Penang's colonial past. We were fortunate to also meet the estate owner and collector for a few minutes. Take the time after the tour to wander in the garden and go up to the perched platform giving a full view of the grounds.

Really good informative guide. The tour was the perfect length and was a great insight in to colonial Penang. They have lots of interesting artifacts from around the world. The venue is quite cool, sadly there is no cafe but there are toilets. Make sure you head up to the tree house and enjoy the view too. Highly recommended.

It brings us back to the past! The museum has wonderful colonial era collections. The owner spent 5 decades to collect all these from old houses and families in Penang and surrounding area. We learnt so much from Nicole, our guide, about Penang Island history and uniqueness. She passionately brought the stuff to live with her narration. It's a recommended visit to complement Straits Chinese history knowledge. All of the collections are well maintained and some has high historical value and rarity. They also have remarkable collection of non-religious high quality stained glass. It's a hidden gem.
