★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing food experience with such price. I would say it’s probably overpriced. 13 courses with all duckish meal, and dessert was served with shrimp chocolate, seriously… the chocolate was made with shrimp and taste very awful. Service need to be improved, as we haven’t even finish our juice but the staff ardy took away our juice glasses. RM35 for juice per small glass with only few sips.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Using predominantly local ingredients, and many rare ones at that, I would say it's a bit of a hit and miss. Loved the pigeon with keluak sauce, sengkuang soup wt caviar, serabai with oyster emulsion and the crayfish wt tuak broth. Some of the dishes though, used a bit too much herbs, making the taste too strong. All in all, very authentic and creative dishes that you probably won't find elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in Naza tower with an awesome view of the twin towers. When you first enter you will be given the kitchen tour by the chef and the philosophy behind the local ingredients they sourced and will be used in the meal. Pretty neat touch.
The meal itself you don’t get a choice. Comes in a set that is pre selected by the chef, based on seasonal ingredients I presume. One thing I would have liked is if they would have asked their guests earlier during the tour if they have any dietary restrictions.
For the food, it is very interesting in how they incorporate and elevate locally sourced produce. No doubt that it is mostly very tasty, however, I feel that each dish tries to be a champion and overpowers one another. There’s no harmony or a feeling that you’re going through a gustatory journey. In between the “courses”, I would prefer if they served a palate cleanser. To reset your taste buds before bringing in the next course.
Otherwise, the staff were all courteous. Each having a role to explain their dish. Another gripe though is that they keep clearing our plates even though we were still going through the meal. Sort of feel like they are hurrying us through the meal
In summary, it was truly an interesting experience with the highlight being local produce. However, being a fine dining establishment and top 50 restaurant in Asia, there’s still much room for improvement

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic benchmark for what Modern Malaysian gastronomy should be. Dewakan's use of local ingredients in so many different and delightful ways really had me flabbergasted. Truly one of the best dining establishments in KL and worthy of their spot on Asia's 50 Best.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finally get to go out with my wife after so long. So in a very celebratory mode.
This is a very unique fine dining experience as it sources it ingredients locally providing a refreshed angle in fine dining. So don't expect the usual wagyu beef, lobster and etc
It is pricey and have a great view of KL. I will come here for its uniqueness.
P.S
The wine pairing is a bit overrated it seems more like a package rather than completing the dishes. Just my humble opinion

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice experience. Tried the tasting menu. Interesting dishes but sometimes felt a bit underwhelming and overpriced (the bamboo shoot was tiny). Some dishes are very good, can taste the quality. The view is pretty nice as well looking at the twin towers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Complication arose during food presentation (dropped a plate and broke right in front of our eyes). The service recovery could have been better (e.g. complimentary extra course) which unfortunately, did not happen.
Sound absorber and soft touch such as carpets were missing, hence the ambience was noisy and not appropriate setting for fine dining.
Despite it was a special occasion, the reservation person directly decline any chance of providing a small complimentary desert for the celebration.
However, we still appreciate the huge effort by the team in sourcing so much rare and exotic ingredients to be incorporated into each courses.
Hope the management is able to review these feedback.
