β β β β β I've been here a few times for casual and sometimes celebration dining. It's pricey for the standard of Ipoh but the food is very good.
They have a wide selection of Japanese food from sushi to bento sets to noodles to sashimi boats and event omakase. Staff is always helpful. If you're here often, there's also a VIP card for benefits and discounts

We tried their omakase once (require booking at least a week in advance) and it was a good experience.

β β β β β The restaurant has a nice ambience and its free parkingΒ lots. The food was dedicated. The shashimi is fresh and well presented food on the table. The server is excellent with well manner. Every dish is delighted. Its a great Japanese Restaurant.

β β β β β We almost left because of how we were treated at the entrance, by a staff named Kooi/Koon(?). Upon arrival, we asked if there was a table but he merely responded with "1 hour" and then ignored us. We had to probe further and ask if they have a queue system before another staff told us to write down our name and contact number on the waiting list.
There was also no proper SOP in place (refer to the photo attached). Customers had to wait in the waiting area with no 1m distancing and none of the staff came out to regulate or moderate the situation.
Otherwise, the overall service was decent. We'd like to commend the staff who attended to our table (Zhi Leng, if I got her name right) though, as she was attentive and quick on her feet. She was also knowledgeable and was able to answer questions asked about the food served. Food was decent as well.

β β β β β A great environment for dinner, they serve nice sushi and scrumptious Japanese meal.
I ordered Kyushu Ramen, and the soup reminded me of authentic Japanese ramen.
*If you want to sit beside sushi conveyer belt roller, make sure to reserve a table beforehand.

β β β β β Love the sushis, especially salmon belly. the sukiyaki was okay. Environment is abit noisy though, maybe its a family friendly restaurant, but not for couple.

β β β β β Dozo Ipoh is the best among the 3 in Malaysia. Location is great and layout of restaurant spacious, functional with a touch of class. Service is prompt, thanks to strict adherence to covid SOP, coincidentally followed by a police spot check during our visit. The real test of an awesome Japanese restaurant comes in the ala carte sashimi of Hamachi and Salmon as well as fresh oyster. Quality is quite consistent amid my 3rd visit. The menu can be overwhelming with choices but you are welcome to sit near conveyor belt sushi counter to pick the sushi ? of your choice. My all time favorite Japanese place when in Ipoh
