โ โ โ โ โ This restaurant specialising in western cuisine was found by an acocdent.. really! I remember that fateful day - we had just finished our work in Bentong & were famished. Initially we were contemplating between a famous Chinese restaurant and our regular cafe within the vicinity.
But then I fired up Google and found this restaurant - good rating and many good reviews that prompted me to suggest this place to the minister. She said OK and we ended up at the restaurant located along the back row of shoplots. Honestly I had secobd thoughts at that moment but still walked in.
The restaurant was very basic without any air conditioning or fancy designs. Menu was simple with the front page showing the food and backpage the drinks. When I saw the word "Wagyu" and "French Rack", my mood instantly lifted up as I expected only the usual chicken chop, lamb chop and tenderloin steak.
โพFrench Rack (RM66) - 3-pieces of expertly executed lamb rack grilled medium (as ordered) completed with chicken sausage, onion rings, mashed potato and salad. Sauce options include mushroom, black pepper or mint sauce. I finally found commendable lamb racks closer to home.
โพSmoked duck with mango sauce (RM35) - another winner! This was my second time coming here.. and I expected the usual commercial duck breast. But I was again wowed by the duck breast smothered with the sweetish mango sauce that got my raving again and again. It was a match made in heaven with my bottle of Etna Rosso that day.
โพWestern chicken chop with black pepper sauce (RM16) - a classic dish done right.
โพOnion rings - least favourite as the batter was too thick to my liking.
In fairness I came twice to try the food and both time impressed by the chef's skill. For the price please do not expect Michelin star quality ok? But I can safely say that the overall quality can easily rival some of the pricier restaurants out there in KL/PJ.
Despite its basic laminated menu, the words "Wagyu Cube Roll" are enough to convince me that the chef is serious in his food, as these beef meats are not cheap.
