★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both my 9 year old and 15 year old grew up in Boston. I wanted them to have the experience of living and learning in a different culture. We checked out many different schools in Penang and finally chose Fairview International School because of its excellent IB focus and curriculum. Although we have returned to Boston, we loved being at Fairview.
The school is fairly small which is great. It means we are all like a big family. The children are diverse, the class size is small which means the children are able to get the attention and assistance they each need, and the children get to know each other across grades and not only in their own classroom.
The teachers are very responsive, caring and willing to spend the time and energy to assist and support the children's academic and social emotional learning. I have especially appreciated my teenager's teacher being a close partner helping my son to negotiate any academic challenges as well as the challenges of puberty.
There are lots of opportunities for the children to learn and grow beyond academics with rich after-school programs (unfortunately interrupted by Covid). Despite the challenges of Covid 19, the school did a great job putting together an excellent online learning program before most schools in Penang were able to.
The management is open and responsive, always open to parent's input and suggestions. They provide lots of ways for parents to be involved to improve the learning experiences for the children.
In addition to being a wonderful school where children are proactively supported, Fairview International School, Penang is located in the beautiful island of Penang where the food is the BEST, and there are lots of cultural activities/festivities that children can participate and learn from as well as a wonderful landscape of great hiking hills and beautiful beaches....and of course its beautiful people!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We moved to Penang in January 2017. We visited 4 different international schools here. After considering several important points from all schools we visited, we decided to choose Fairview International School.
From our own experience of moving to different countries (Germany, United Kingdom, Singapore and Malaysia), what has inspired me the most about IB, is its ability to encourage students to become internationally minded, by giving them the opportunity to explore and understand global cultures, attitudes and values.
And as a parent, the first thing that I expect from a school is the happiness of my children. It is very important that the school is able to create an environment where learning is encouraged. This also means that children should fall in love with the very idea of learning itself.
So far, I see my kids are happy, they thrive and their academic reports & results are good. Those for me are the reflection of the quality of teaching and learning that goes on inside this school. And I'm very happy with that.
I’ve seen my children develop self-confidence and grow proud of themselves. They show skills such as critical and independent thinking, and communication. I see these as a strong foundation for challenges they may face later in life and to help them prepare for higher education.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both my kids have been studying in Fairview for the past 4 years and it has truly been an enriching learning experience for them. The IB curriculum has really brought out the best in them not only in academics but also other critical aspects of life like social skills, emotional intelligence, communication, critical thinking and many more. The teachers are fantastic who make learning fun and my kids love going to school. Also during the pandemic, the management has made great efforts to ensure the quality of education is not impacted and every student gets the care and attention that is needed.
We also like the engagement the management and teachers maintain with the parents to ensure we work collaboratively for the betterment of the kids. I would like thank the Fairview team and can only say keep up the good job!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fairview Penang has been our daughter's school since 2015. We know we have made the right choice because she loves the school.
The IB program is a well-rounded curriculum which prepares students for higher education and life in a global society. We've seen our daughter grow and improve not only in her academic life but in her social, communication and leadership skills.
Our daughter has developed good bonds with her teachers, she likes all of them! They provide great support, keeping students happy and motivated in class.
We also value that the school is open to constructive criticisms and suggestions which are necessary to address parents' concerns. Fairview Penang also provides parent workshops and coffee mornings that help strengthen the camaraderie within the community.

Fairview integrates compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons. Fairview gives children more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed.
They are so great about sharing moments of pride they see within my children and their good behaviors and achievements; and they know the importance of getting the parents involved should an issue arise, and do it in a very respectful, approachable manner. Over the course of time, my children have all learned to be a thinker, more responsible and managed to overcome challenges in a creative way based on IB teaching & learning methods which focuses on positive & quality learning environment. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am grateful to write a review today for Fairview Penang, I have always wanted a good and healthy studying life and experience for my son. After my wife done quite some study on all international school, we both finds what Fairview offers sound like what we wanted for our son. It has been 5 months, and while my wife living most with my son on day to day, I do regular check and getting feedback from my son.
In short, he is quite happy and like it quite much, he find it exciting where they are also projects that related to real world, besides the academy, and learnt through projects.
To me, most importantly is the kid is HAPPY, enjoy while learning, an environment that makes the kid wanted to learn is Healthy, that enable kid to uncover their talents. Learning the real world beyond academic are great as they are more adapted in the society and real world scenarios.
So far it is exactly what I ever hoped for my son for a happy and healthy learning experience and journey.
I am grateful to have met Fairview, and thankful to Fairview for keeping up to the commitment as they promoted.
