At Pulau Santap river bank recreational area, we crossed the pedestrian/ motorbike bridge over to the other river bank. Taking a leisurely walk along the road beside the river, we found a fig farm named Figs Malaysia Farm about 300 metres from the bridge. A friendly Malay man welcomed us and invited us to see the fig trees in the greenhouse covered with plastic. The fig tress looked healthy and many were bearing fruits and the fruits were really large. According to the Malay man, the fig trees bear fruits year round and the species was a hybrid. We bought a packet of 4 large figs costing RM30.00 (30 Jan 2020). Certainly not cheap but we wanted to try figs grown in Malaysia. They were sweet!

A fig farm which sells fig seedlings, fresh figs and variety of fig products such as jam, juice, tea, preserved figs and so on. Staffs are helpful. Owner is friendly. Their fig trees can grow up to 3m tall and starts to bear fruits after 4 months. It takes 6 months for a fruits to ripe though. The matured fruits can reach up to almost the size of a tennis ball. And a pack of 4 figs cost RM30. Fresh fig taste soft, juicy and not too sweet. The owner let us taste the juice and the fig jam too!

A nice fig nusery tucked somewhere in Janda Baik. About 1 hr drive from Kuala Lumpur through the nice scenery at countryside. The road finally leads to the back of Bukit Tinggi New Village. At the Fig nusery, they sell the potted plants range from rm50 - rm100 depending on size. All kinds of end products of fig fruits are available. Even fig tea leaves. Owner and staffs are friendly and informative. Great for weekends visits.

The figs are fresh (RM20 for 4) and you can get some nice drinks made of figs there. (RM7) You can also go into the farm and see the figs tree.

Interesting little place with a great variety of fig plants, saplings and products. Staff are pleasant enough but if you are in the market for a few plants for the garden be aware. Nothing is priced and what you end up paying is dependent on the current mood of the boss. It does vary wildly. You get the impression that the price of every plant is completely arbitrary. You will hear discussions between the boss and his staff about what you are interested in, what you look like, are you a newbie ripe for the picking that sort of thing. If you are new to figs you get the whole pitch about how this one is the only one in the world, or that one is worth xxx thousands which someone just bought last week. Latest, best, greatest etc. All designed to make you in awe of the founder I guess. He has achieved quite a bit no doubt but the selling practices feel a little dishonest with inconsistent pricing the name of the day.
