โ โ โ โ โ Fuze-Ecoteer is an organisation based in the Perhentian Islands off the North-East coast of Peninsular Malaysia. They offer aspiring naturalists, or those wanting a deeper underwater volunteer experience, with a great program of nature based scuba diving. I did a Sea-Grass Mapping program with them in August 2018 and it was valuable in understanding the challenges of the ocean environment. Collecting data on sea-grass intensity, I learnt much about underwater surveying techniques and the importance of data collection. The program allowed me to talk with the program coordinators and learn about solutions to improve underwater habitats and waste management in Island communities. I recommend Fuze-Ecoteer for your volunteer diving experience, or early-, mid-, and late-naturalist career!

โ โ โ โ โ I had my first volunteering experience for wildlife conservation with Fuze Ecoteer. It was an amazing experience with well-designed programme. The programme was educational and very interactive. I got the chance to interact with the locals and built up connection with the locals and also with the Ecoteers. From the experience, I have learned so much about the environment and wildlife. The price is valuable. Good job, Fuze Ecoteer team!

โ โ โ โ โ My experience with Fuze Ecoteer was one of the best ever! I volunteered with them back when they were a small organization monitoring turtle nests and populations whilst learning how to become a divemaster and learn how to monitor coral reefs.
It was a great experience for someone new to conservation, to learn how important it is to protect coral reefs and teach local kids about it.
My time with Fuze Ecoteer lead me to continue a life in conservation, protecting corals and turtles, working for an environmental NGO in Indonesia.
They brought so much advice, many contacts and connections and now run regular Zoom seminars to continue to teach and inspire people whilst they are locked down too.
Highly recommended!

โ โ โ โ โ I volunteered at the Jogjakarta wildlife rehabilitation center back in 2014 for two weeks. The staff was a unique bunch. We were cooked vegetarian Indonesian cuisine for lunch and dinner. Our working day was nothing short of busy but being around animals from birds of prey to primates was quite interesting. We would wake up to the sounds of the gibbons howling in morning. Though this volunteer project was true work, we had fun times on the weekends and evenings were easy going. The accommodations were quite good and I had a nice roommate to boot. If you want a true animal caretaker experience, this is the one. One day I hope to return to Indonesia.

The staff are passionate, wonderful people who really care about the environment and are committed to the conservation projects they run. These guys not only showed me a way of life that one can only dream of but they have became FAMILY. After 6 years I'm still living in Malaysia and this place have became my home. They provide fantastic educational programmes for schools or corporates looking to expand their knowledge and do some good.
