β β β β β I had expected this particular Gloria Jean's Coffee to be at least as spacious as the one at the Tawakal Hospital at Jalan Pahang, but it's unfortunately squeezed into a space suitable for a newsstand/convenience outlet.
This isn't Starbucks where you are customarily greeted by warm, smiling batistas. The staff at this place are probably stressed at having to work in a cramped and stuffy space and it shows on their faces.
There's no table service so you'll have to serve your family members or friends waiting at the tables designated for Gloria Jean's customers.
The food served here appears to have been factory prepared by their supplier. The chicken carbonara pasta which I tried was added to hot water and popped into the microwave oven. As far as pasta goes I think this one is too starchy and oily for my liking.
The coffee is just decent tasting, a far cry from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The only reason Gloria Jean's is doing well at the PPUM is because they have virtually no competition since Secret Recipe closed down. As a matter of fact, they're the only premium coffee outlet for several square kilometers, until you get to Jaya 33 or Mid Valley.
