★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm giving this apartment a 5-star review, not because it is the nicest building or that it has the best facilities, but because there is a solid, self-governed management team made up of the very people who live at this building.
Over the years, as the building showed signs of aging, these were the ones that stepped up to fundraise and maintain the building. They managed to raise enough funds for a repainting of the entire building, which totaled in the RM 100k++ range iirc. Considering this isn't a luxury condo where people are expected to pay for management and service fees, it is a feat to be applauded.
Recently, they'd also managed to secure the 80-20 funding from the state government to do some electrical repair work. 80% will be funded by the state government, while the remaining 20% has to be self-paid. Kudos to the volunteers who made it happen.
The community here is generally warm and welcoming. Sometimes borderline nosy, but that's to be expected from a tight-knitted community that looks out for each other.
