★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good place for lunch or dinner together with friends and family. Quite crowded during weekends and holidays. However I find that the service staff at the IOI Mall at Puchong branch are more friendly and accommodating than here. Here they will provide you with disposable plastic apron unlike at the IOI Mall outlet which provides cloth apron. Also no blanket was offered to cover the ladies handbag. You can read my earlier review for the IOI Mall outlet at my channel. The complimentary desserts is also missing during our visit there. What not, you get the feeling of being "rush" to finish off your meal due to the high demand of other people waiting outside to dine in. If you prefer a more quiet environment, try going there during off-peak periods or weekdays.

Paying 16% service tax, but the service doesn't worth the 16% we have paid.
Requested to take away jelly aiyu /watermelon/soy bean jelly, but the staffs said all these are not allowed in this branch. No仙女棒no other free gifts.
HDL is popular with all those gifts (with hint) & good service, that's why the price is slightly on the high side, but we don't get to enjoy either of them. Feel like we are beggars who asked for free food. Those free gifts/food such as aiyu jelly, soy bean jelly etc all costs are not high, so I don't understand why HDL refused to provide such kind of benefits to customers and in fact, the costs for those free gifts/food are relatively low. Isnt that it is better if HDL is willing to spend minor costs to enlighten customers? Very disappointed. Totally out
The waiter assigned to my table changed to another waitress halfway, and the waitress has no smiling face seems very beh song. I paid for the service tax and not expecting for any lousy attitudes from waitress.
For few times after we finished our beverage /need to refill soup, we need to request our own, the waiter/waitress is not attentive and not alert
The treatment I had here is totally different with other branches. Booked for free manicure, but ended up been told that free manicure service has ended today. Why did I come to HDL then, might as well go to other steamboat restaurants. Ended at 9pm while I booked at 7 something while the operating hours of this branch is until 1am.
Keep questioning myself what did I get by paying normal steamboat ingredients with higher price & 16% service tax? Maybe just average food and normal services like other normal steamboat restaurant.
Disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got to be frank that my expectation was high for its premium or unique dining impression, but I felt none of it. Not only it felt like any regular hotpot vibes and menu, my friend and I thought we were dining in the pavilion food court . Staffs were friendly but they are not professionally trained and sometimes the friendliness were rather awkward. We ordered for the noodle show, but it felt empty and emotionless, nor the noodle were special.
We didn't go for the sauce station though they need to charge extra for Rm8 per person. I didn't get the menu as well, I wanted to order something special but majority of the items are like frozen food. Luncheon meat, fish fingers, crabmeat, I was like what?? The only item I can recommend is the seafood plater, as least they were fresh.
I hardly bash a restaurant like this but there were too many disappointments that I don't wish others to follow our footstep. I requested a birthday surprise for my friend, they even written that in my listing but they forgot. It wasnt even the peak hours. We got a hdl goodie bag with the spring doll and 4packets of... miaomiao snack? (10 for rm5 in Malaysia) We don't mind paying for a premium for a premium experience, but definitely not as mediocre canteen vibes with weird song lists as hdl in velocity. Save your money for something better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Superb customer services. Food are ok. Wide spread of dipping sauces. Seating not so comfortable as the space under table is small that it hardly fit our legs . Cutleries need to be improved. The chopsticks too long, spoon too short. A bit pricy and overated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked a table for dinner on a weekday. Not really busy. Can get manicure, free drinks and titbits as well as popcorn while waiting for them to setup the table.
A great place to have dinner .. slowly. Drinks are RM5 per person, condiments is charged per person, for a table of 5, they charge 2. Unlimited refills. Dishes are very fresh, loved their lamian, chewy texture even when you overcook it. They put on a show before serving.
If you’re celebrating birthday, 2 person will bring a placard, sing song and offer you a plate of mixed fruits and a candle for you to blow ? eating here is an experience.. more often than not a memorable one.
Food is great as usual but service is not as good as IOI branch, not bad per se but can be improved. Better to book a table before you go to avoid queuing.
