★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kampong Hailam: This is an old settlement across the long jetty for commuters taking ferry-rides to Pulau Ketam. Majority of the houses look distinctively tiny from the front but they run quite deep. Signs of ‘Don’t Litter’ are ubiquitously displayed, but what residents really needed to do is to organize a community-initiative to clear the rubbish. It’s unsightly, although the debris could have been brought there by the tides.
The fare for a boat ride across the river is RM1.00
