Was having dinner here; normal food and food portions was very small. Not value for money.

The pan mee is awesome & done by an uncle that has been there for eons including the fried kway teow. To end the entire meal I had my kopi o ice which was simply awesome! This place & meal is my Sunday ritual & right after church?

We were here for dinner. The tai chau is quite popular, a steady stream of patrons on the weekend is always a good sign. Food, portion and price were decent. Be prepared to wait if its a full house.

My favourite pulut kunyit/nasi lemak stall run by an elderly couple closed for good. Happy retirememt. Food at rest of stalls so so only. Charged 80 sen for a glass of Chinese tea.

New Grand View is that one corner lot restaurant which I pass by almost twice a week, as I go to Taman Mayang/Taman Megah rather often. I will begin with reviewing the afternoon hawker stalls which I have tried a couple of times before. The chicken rice stall's Chicken Rice is just about average, and with movement control order (MCO) now, it seems that they will be pretty much done with business just past noon. I have tried the Curry Mee and Char Kway Teow as well, they were alright but I am sure I have had better ones in other restaurants in Petaling Jaya. Another stall would be the Pan Mee, and it however deserves a bit of critique. There were little to no ingredients, and the Pan Mee was overwhelmed with sauce. If you add in the half a pack of the punched chilli, you will realise your Pan Mee is totally ruined. Everything you are tasting is likely to be just sauce or mono-sodium glutamate (MSG). What's comforting about the afternoon session stalls would be the reasonable pricing. Conversely, the dinner or 大炒 in the evening does well by looming in the shadows of the afternoon hawker bunch. The food in general is better than what I would expect. Typically, I would order the Curry Fish, Fried Chicken and some vegetables. My guess is that this curry wasn't made from scratch, but nevertheless, the curry paste or powder used is the bomb. My advice on the Curry Fish is not to order Curry Fish Head, but Fish Slices or other parts of the fish. This is because with fish head, it's more expensive and weirdly, there isn't much you can retrieve from it, most of the time. Another recommendation would be the amazing Thai Style Pork Knuckle, very tender and very well done, just lacking the gravy. Other than that, let your appetite roam wild by getting Tau Pok (beancurd) as well as the Sotong (squid) as add-ons to the scrumptious curry pot. Lastly, the fried chicken could have had a more agreeable mouthfeel if it taste less burnt. To sum up, New Grand View is worthy of a nice dinner place, which is why I could not give any less than four stars. I also respect how the lady boss made sure social distancing measures are adhered to by customers. If you are in for the lunchtime varieties, however, try not to set your expectations too high.

Had fish head curry, sit fried vege, stir fried beef with ginger and spring onion, crispy squid in salted egg, steam chicken with salted fish. All tasted good except for beef which was chewy. Price was slightly on the expensive side.

Good kopitiam coffee. Text book A-grade curry mee. The lady making this curry mee understands food texture. Decent YTF. Not the best, but cheaper than market. Average chicken rice.

Having dinner at this “tai chau”, food is normal and nothing to shout. Open air kitchen in the restaurant, enjoying your food on the same time enjoy oily cooking smell from the kitchen. Overpriced menu.
