★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Usually visit Yaoki Restaurant a few doors down, but decided to try Kisho since Yaoki was busy. Ordered a Sukiyaki beef bowl for RM 100. Picture on menu showed a nice big bowl of beef, but the actual bowl served was just slightly bigger than a normal rice bowl.
Normally I wouldn't bother writing bad reviews, but this almost feels like cheating. It's not hard to see why the restaurant is empty on a Friday night and chefs are sitting around. Also agree with another reviewer that staff were not wearing mask.
Do yourself a favour and just stick to Yaoki if you want decent japanese food.

Pairing with great selection of sake (yes, all sake hand picked by the boss and all yummy from most expensive to basic type) best selection of wine, liquor. Always surprise our taste bud without fail. Most recommended!

What a treat! This is my 2nd time here and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. We are so lucky to get a chance to taste such high-quality Japanese foods in Johor Bahru. The foods and ingredients imported directly from Japan are so fresh. You have to dine here if you want to taste the highest level of Sushi in JB or Malaysia. Did I mention their ramen is also one of the best in town? Thank you, Chef!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had an impromptu Omakase lunch at Kisho. The outside of the eatery is all black and secrecy, so you have to go inside to find out. The decoration of the private room is simple and elegant, without any fanciful features. There is no BGM playing in the room, only the noise of the air conditioner is heard, which is very unpleasant.
As for the food, all the ingredients are very fresh. Every dish is well executed.
I personally think it is considerable of good standard as whole .
The price at noon is relatively cheaper, and I think it is value for money. If you fancy for some Japanese food can come and give it a try.
