Used to come here quite often a few years ago. The food I had today was not as heavenly as it was previously but it is still delicious. Everyone who comes here orders the mi fen and the special beancurd (highly recommend both!). The oyster omelette wasn’t very good.

Our regular eating place while in JB - the fried mee hoon is a must eat item. Dry on the outside, moist on the inside, the texture is just so good. Other dishes such as the fried chicken in prawn sauce and deep fried mini squids are equally nice. Come early coz they close at 9pm.

Tried on 19/3/21. San lou meehoon (三樓米粉)is their signature dish. Ordered marmite pork rib & bitter gourd with salted egg as well. Overall their dishes are nice. Worth to try. San lou meehoon fried till very dry & with little bit crispy texture and it does smell good when the moment serve on the table. Marmite pork rib is nice and bittergourd with salted egg is more healthy where I find not oily due to they are stir fried with salted egg & egg instead of deep fried the bittergourd. Ordered their teow cheow pumpkin yam paste for the dessert. Yam paste are very smooth but find that a bit too wet & soft but overall still not too bad one if you are a dessert lover. This dessert only come in one size where no smaller size. Ao, good for sharing only. A restaurant that worth a visit.

Beehoon portion is getting lesser and lesser. Two people portion cost RM13 and only sufficient for 1 person. The auntie say yes it's two person portion and it shrink just like that.

Taste of the signature San Lou bee hoon is better than San Lou Seafood. But portion size very small. Had the deep fried baby squid which was excellent. Will return to try the other dishes! Come before 1430hrs, even though it's 3pm - 5pm break, they turned away a customer at 1425hrs saying 5pm come back... Marmite pork ribs not too bad. Kam heong lala not too bad also.

Salty egg fried sotong taste great, but slightly pricey at rm33. 清炒番薯叶 taste great too. Steamed otak taste normal, can skip if u already tried Muar otak otak before. Sanlou Fried beehun is the signature dish. Total rm62 including 2 drinks.

Went in a Monday evening. At 7pm, we got the last table but fish sold out, all veg except sweet potato leaves and bok choy were sold out. At 7.55pm overheard the kitchen say noodles sold out, everything sold out. Wow! Taste wise, after trying all the other San Lou Bee Hoon restaurants which claim to be related to the original, this is the best. Smoky wok heat from the get go, it goes very well with the chilli sauce. The prawn paste chicken was quite ordinary. We wanted to order salted egg sotong but they only had the deep fried version. This one was surprisingly very well done. The garlic fried sweet potato leaves was nice but serving was too small. Sweet and sour ribs was also good. Note: Serving of bee hoon is very small. Each large size plate of bee hoon may be enough for two to three persons only. And they don’t take reservations. Total damage was only RM158 and even considering we had no seafood, it was quite affordable. Definitely coming again but this time we will do lunch and not on Monday when they have not had a chance to replenish their ingredients after a busy weekend.

We were recommended to this place as alternative to San Low Seafood Restaurant. However, we left this place with great disappointment. They claimed to be the originator for San Low “Pancake” Bee Hoon since 1979, but it wasn’t as good as San Low Seafood Restaurant’s Signature Bee Hoon since there is no taste of “Wok Hei” at all. Likewise for the Fried Kway Teow, without taste of “Wok Hei”. The Signature Tofu was mediocre too which was bland and nothing unusual. The only thing that was good was the Marmite Pork Ribs. We paid almost RM50 for what we ordered for two of us with two glasses of Chinese Tea. It was pricey and not worth at all since the food quality is not up to our expectation. There is no price stated in the menu, hence they could charge arbitrarily as they like. Last but not least, some of the servers were rather rude and impolite too. This is probably our last visit to this eatery.
