Around the same time as Fr Souhait arrived in Klang, the Holy Infant Jesus Sisters from Bukit Nanas Convent (pineapple hill convent), Kuala Lumpur, also began teaching classes. Mother Superior Adele with 2 nuns, Sisters Stephanie & Mathew, rented a shop house from a Chinese towkay in Jalan Tengku Kelana & started with 19 pupils, boys & girls. From 1924 to 1951, the school was run as a branch of the Bukit Nanas Convent. In 1926, on the site next to the Church of our Lady of Lourdes, construction of a new building began. It was officially opened by Sir William Peel on 1 January 1928. H.R.H. the Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah, the Raja Muda Selangor, Fr Souhait & Mother Provincial Tarcisius attended the opening. In 1930 it became a school for girls only. The last nun, St Florena, retired in 1976, after which the Convent School was headed by Malaysian lay Principals, the 1st being Puan Ng Thiam Hoo. Still in use, the well maintained building is symmetrical with equal bays on each side of a central double-storey entrance block serving as porte-cochere. The plain pointed arches of the entrance span the road, giving public access to the central stair hallway. An arcade of similar pointed arches is continued on the two sides, forming shaded verandahs to the ground floor classrooms. Half glazed, half wooden louvred windows light & ventilate the 1st floor classrooms. The entrance block's twin windows have pointed arch heads, decorated with beautiful plaster scrolls, twinning vines, leaves & shields. The cross-topped pediments trio of pointed arches is repeated at the end gables of the building.

The school, which was originally for both girls and boys, started in a shophouse at Rembau Street. Three sisters of the Holy Infant Jesus (convent) rented the property from a Chinese towkay (master) and taught a class of 19 students in 1923 . Since the Church of our Lady of Lourdes was being built on its own large plot of land, the church decided that a proper school should be built next to it. It became an all girl's school in 1930 - Edge, city & country -Sept 2021

Immaculate looking building dating about a century. It's one of Klang's historical site and on the Klang Walk agenda. Built beside Our Lady of Lourdes Church, another beautiful historical site. Being an admirer of such buildings,I feel proud of their existence.
