★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recommended! Dr Chong was great, fixed my problem almost immediately while unable to get it fixed at Advance Vision, Uptown. Keep claiming that my swollen eye and blurry vision is just allergic reaction.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr not very patient with elderly patient.Suttle hint of sarcasm noted from doctor .Diagnosis was ok but doctors need to be reminded that patients still pay their bills.This isn't an NGO giving free service rather paid by customers own pocket or insurance policy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 stars for the staff dressed in light or dark blue, red/black combi and especially to Esther and Karen (dark blue).
1. Please book an appointment. DO NOT walk in. Waiting time might even be longer. Lesson learnt.
2. No doubt KPJ tried their best to keep to the appointed time, but be prepared to wait. At least 30 mins, if it’s your lucky day...
3. If you have an elderly person with you, I hoped it’s either Esther or Karen assisting you.
I took my mom to see Dr Choong, and her first Visual Field Test for Glaucoma was very unpleasant. She’s 80, though not helpless, but is hard of hearing and needless to say, reflexes aren’t great.
I only had that single encounter with this nurse (or assistant or whatever they are supposed to be, dark blue uniform), and it wasn’t very pleasant as patience was definitely not a virtue here. To be fair, only one encounter between us but I’ve seen her in action TWICE with two other seniors. Same attitude though.
Despite me sounding her before the test, that my mom is 80, hard of hearing and slow, I nearly lost it when she spoke loudly and harshly to her.
I did firmly put her in her place when she started to show her impatience imparting instructions. And it worsened after that. Her demeanor affected my mom’s concentration and at this age, when your confidence took a hit, she became a bit panicky when she did it wrong the first time. My mom is hard of hearing, not deaf. No reason to shout when she’s right in front of you.
KPJ is not a charitable organization. EVEN if it is, is there any reason at all to treat the seniors this way? Good manners cost nothing.
I can also understand that, day in and day out, possibly more than 8 hours a day, facing the young, old or difficult patients took it’s toll. Perhaps you’re in the wrong profession?

Voon Ping. A doctor who is kind, patient, down to earth, not a trace of arrogance to be found within this cool medical practitioner. I believe i speak on behalf of many when i say; dont you feel like you are not getting properly treated by doctors that dont listen let alone allow you to speak? A real pain in the a** right? Good decent doctors are a rare commodity these days and Dr.Lai is one of them. By the way, the staff are also very friendly and helpful. I really recommend this place for anyone with vision related problems.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TRUE STORY. Horrible experience, that male doctor was the RUDEST doctor i've ever met. Talked to my dad sarcastically because my dad is an old man who's hearing wasn't that good and he tend to ask alot of questions. Please have a little patient with seniors, we are paying customers for God sake. Kept asking my dad to drip a very strong drip entire week, so painful my dad couldn't take it. In the end no result no action, we had to go to another specialist and doctor told us it was too late.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I dont see a point making an appt as when you arrived there's still 20 other patients waiting for their turn. Totally mismanaged and just trying to get as many customer as possible and let ppl wait hours even after making appt. Total disrespect of time and ppl management. The receptionist dont even bother to say something pleasant but indirectly gave you the response if you can wait you van just leave. Horrible!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought my elderly mother here for cataract surgery. Services are generally good and efficient. Dr Lai was also very friendly and we took up their year end 2020 offer. Surgery was successfully done on day of appointment without much delay and my mother can see well again
