Non standard airport management. KLIA can use app to check in for infant but langkawi MUST print boarding pass!

Don’t go to your gate to early! The Shops and restaurants are before the check in. When you pas immigration there are only 2 little Shops with some food and drinks. So stay at the side of the Starbucks and don’t go to your gate to early. We had to find this out ourselves and wait 2 boring hours at the gate :x

Overall a very good service as expected

An old, poorly maintained airport that struggles to handle the volume of passengers and which is badly in need of an upgrade. There are no jet bridges, so you walk across the tarmac between the plane and airport - not great as it rains in Langkawi over 200 days of the year, on average, and regularly has tropical storms. After check-in, you return to the main terminal and it's a good idea to stay there until you need to go through security to the gate. Beyond security is a single waiting area for all gates without enough seats, with a couple of small shops and no working men's restrooms when I traveled through. The waiting area also has a poor PA system, so it is difficult to understand the gate announcements, and the information screen for the gate my plane was leaving from kept failing into Windows and rebooting, making it hard to know what was going on.

The management should do something about the toilet in the boarding hall. It stinks until you want to hold your breath while you pee and may faint inside the toilet. It's a disgrace when you give the tourist a last bad impression before they leave this beautiful island. The last memories will always determine visitors from coming back. The authorities should do something immediately, no excuse please. Thank you.

This not about the airport itself, but car rental provider at this airport. I’m renting viva auto for 3 days. i’m pick up the car at 6pm upon arrival. The next day morning, when wanted to start the car, battery down. I’m calling the provider, waiting them to come over, they just used jumper to start, I told them that not the solution, because sure the battery already down. They insisted, it ok. I’m go around, well lucky nothing happened. Next day morning early morning, I wanted to start my day, again the car cannot start. This very irritating, call them again, waiting again, already spoiled our mood. When the provider arrived, again jumper. I told them this not the solution. I asking replacement car, since a day before I’m already asked due to air conditioner not so good. Still the provider insisted to used jumper and add the battery water, this is not right, as they said in their website, “Quality “ car. I told them i don’t want to used that car. The provider said no more spare car. I’m still insist car replacement. End up he said if i’m cannot accept the car conditions, he give refund. Find refund, but best thing he considered car used for 2 days. even though it just early morning, and his car faulty. He told me, i’m returning the car tomorrow, so left only 1 day. That not right, best of it he asked me “ habis abg nak guna free ? that too much, when come to return, we late 1 hour the charge user, when they fault halfday the is not counted. I’m telling this story just for you guys take care with the provider with the Phone number in my attached photo.

No aerobridge, pax had to walk under sun or walk using umbrella when raining. So don't complain when mother nature decide to being harsh to us, it's on your own risk.
