Found another old school nyonya kuih place in Penang...something that's gonna extinct if this tradition is not preserved. Too many choices to select and wasn't that hungry... definitely will try other selections next time round.

This restaurant provide old nyonya dishes. We have our lunch here. Food tastes great especially Nasi Kerabu and kueh. Limited seats. Ambience and cleanliness is good.

Stumbled upon this cafe by chance, after patronizing the Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng. Ordered the Nasi Kerabu and Carrot Cake. Am impressed with both the colorful presentation and taste of the Nasi Kerabu. Served with flakes of fish meat and other condiments such as ulam, sambal and crispy crisps, you basically toss and mix all there is on the plate before savoring it. The Carrot Cake is served in small portion (4 square pieces), crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Nice ambience, walls are adorned with pictures of actual food and nyonya kuih platters, creating just the right nyonya peranakan feel.

Tasty lunch dishes (they also do breakfast, sets available for both), and of the nyonya kuih we've tried (which is admittedly not that many), these are the best. They use little sugar, which really lets the flavour of the rice, coconut, and so on come through. First time I've really enjoyed them as sweets, beyond just as a novel, interesting dish to try. Pretty cheap, too, given that we tried as many varieties as possible. Seems to have been refurbished recently, good look to the place. Makes a good combo with a visit to the colonial museum nearby.

If you are just having kuih on vacation, this won't take such a big bite out of your travel budget. It is located walking distance behind the Rich Wives market of Pulau Tikus, opposite the police station. Double portions of Nyonya kuih are RM2.50 per pack, not dissimilar in price to KL's Nyonya Colours but substantially better tasting from freshly baked ingredients. At RM1.25 a piece, it's size was double that of Chulia Street Moh Teng Pheow factory outlet offering. Recipe made a difference to its rendition of Kuih Bengka Ubi (tapioca) with more desiccated coconut in its starchy chew, rather different from the kuih my mum once bought from Chowrasta market. Buy a pack of 5 assorted for RM6. Also offered are experimental multi-coloured Mochi with various fillings for the sweet-toothed, a recipe far from the oishii Japanese delicacy, only for diabetics with hara-kiri on their minds. While it is common sense to be pork free for Nyonya kuih making, today's promoter was plugging the siew bao. Pork free siew bao just does not make any Charsiew sense and it's a slippery slope to compete with Hong Kong's Char Chan Teng menu. Stick to what Nyonya knows best with pulut, sago, tapioca and Gula Melaka please...

1st of all, when i reached this cafe they put notice says they were close for 2 days (they only post it on their fb page, maybe is better to change the operating hours in google maps too next time). I being told by the staff in the restaurant that they have another outlet open at queensbay mall until 10pm. But when i reach the queensbay mall outlet around 6pm, the staff told me that a lot of dishes is sold out. I being told that all of their dishes are pre-cooked and bring it thr to sell until is finish. I abit curious that what is the point that your cafe open until 10pm and most of the food are not available for customer on 6pm? Lastly i just get a tomyam mihun and mochi, the mihun soso and same as the mochi, there are 3 flavour, chocalate, peanut and red bean (rm10 for total) Reply: thanks for the reply, but the prob is your staff should be aware bout this. By mentioning the restaurant open until 10pm, customer will expect they still can eat by 9pm. You staff should at least remind next time that the food at QB mall will be first come first serve basis. And most of the food will be sold out after XX time. Btw your P.tikus staff also not really friendly

Ordered fullmoon package for my baby. Excellent response and quick assistance from the customer service, thumbs up for him! Ordered RM40 package, some packages include delivery. My friends commented the packing is very presentable and the kuih taste super delicious! Strongly recommended! ?
