★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful from the outside. At night, it seems there're plenty of social activities going on including dancing, karaoke, n gathering among the Chinese decent locals. Impressive of how Chinese heritage remains and exists along with the different cultures of Malaysia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Hokkien has very old stories of Melaka even before this building is constructed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small and picturesque building located close to many attractions and shops. A great detour to get away from the crowds for a few minutes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During your visit to the Jonker Street area there is a small temple, called the Hokkien Huay Kuan Temple that you can visit.
The interior of the temple offers little to see but the entrance area is well worth a quick stop. The entrance is very well decorated, featuring the expected dragon and tiger murals and a most interesting pillar arrangement, both being scaled by dragons.
Overall, not as impressive a visit as the nearby Cheng Hoong Teng Temple but easily worth a few minutes of your time when you visit Jonker Street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saw this building a few times on Jonker street back in Feb and March. The Hokkien Huay Kuan Temple is a historical Hokkien clan house and temple. The exterior is lavishly decorated. The two pillars supporting the portico are decorated with dragons wrapping themselves around the columns. The rest of the front is richly decorated with striking, bold and colourful portraits of guardians on the front doors, and sculptures of all along the walls of the portico.
Inside, there is not much to see except for the ancestral shrine. The temple is not alway open, but if you get pictures and selfies with the outside, then that’s probably enough. The building is a great photo op, but that's about it.
