★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hospitality from start to finish. Princillia the Matahari really know the way around Penang and it seems like almost everybody in the island knows her. Just keep saying Hi like her everytime you meet people and they will greet you with a smile. Meanwhile, SJ is the one who gives you tips n trick on how to improve your mtb skill. Penang Hill is really challenging track and can improve your skill. Last and not least is Ace the shuttle car driver. He's so quick in helping you with ransom and stuff. I swear, I just like drinking half a bottle or more, chat a bit like a five minutes or so, and when I grab my water bottle again in my bicycle, its turn to new water bottle! When did he change it?!
If you mtb'ers with a die hard fan of XC/Trail track. I recommended you to took the add on package, which is The Twist. It got lots of steep climb with several switchback. Gobble those steep climb one at a time while enjoying the scenery, the more you go higher the more beautiful view. After you reach the summit, its time for fun flowy trail with down down and a bit up then down again, they also got rock garden section. The trail really fun that puts some smile in your face while riding it.
Great hospitality, delicious food, challenging and yet fun trail to ride. If I took another holiday to Penang, I surely gonna book it the Matahari tour again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a memorable experience for us. It was a family event that my sister wanted to do for a long time. Sj, Prinscilia and Uncle John were very warm and accomodating. Especially for first timers like us. It was a serene, relaxing and informative tour. Seeing the friendly people, tasting local delicacies, learning about the different cottage industries. Our takeaway as a family from the activity include full appreciation and awareness of our environment. And thru simple activities like cycling through the countryside, make us pause and be thankful. We highly recommend Matahari Cycle Tours and Travel for those looking for ways to be in tune with self and nature, away from gadgets and fast paced life. Hope to tour with you guys again♥️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yesterday we took a cycle with Matahari Cycle Tours: The Beautiful Balik Pulau Country Side Ride. We where picked up from our hotel on time and brought to the starting point of our bike adventure. After a warm welcome from Princilia, SJ and John we got our bikes which where in a good condition. We got some basics for how to use the bikes and then it started. The pace was okay and our first stop was a beautiful fishing area, after that we stopped at a goat farm and learned a lot about local agricultural, goats and local products in general. We had a stop at a small local cafe and enjoyed some bites of local snacks. We drove to some a local palm oil plantation and learned that not all palm oil plantations are evil. We saw how hard the work it and that the palm oil trees and the area is a great habitat for animals. The next stop after some cycling was our lunch spot at the back of hills of Penang. It was an awesome scenery and the food was very delicious. The next part of the route brought us up some hills to burn these calories and after that we arrived at a local beach and that was the end of our tour.
It took us about 7 hours from start of the tour till the end and it was a great experience with a good team and well prepared routes.
The area is completely different to Georgetown and you can see a lot of animals and happy locals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in Malaysia. We were warmly greeted by our driver who picked us up from our hotel and took us to our base. Princilla, SJ and John took wonderful care of us all day long. They were so easy to get along with, we felt so safe and we laughed all day. We saw amazing sights which were off the beaten track and met lots of friendly, local people. Princilla is a warm ray of sunshine in a dark world. Highly recommend for all ages! Sally and Alice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great way to enjoy a bit of off the beaten track adventure.
The team were professional courteous and very friendly. The track we chose was a very relaxed 20 k meander through villages , rice paddies and sustainable Palm oil farms owned by the locals.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and set a nice pace. We had a delicious Penang laksa for lunch and as it was a very wet day (which made the experience better in my opinion) which warmed the belly quite nicely.
They have a verity of different adventures to chose from depending on you fitness and skill levels. At RM 270 may just a bit pricey but an excellent time.

That's the kind of assurance i felt going on their 3-day tour of Penang n Perak Hidden Gems last weekend. As for the tour routes, i would rate it 6 stars if I could.

Princella guided us through the beautiful countryside teaching us about the area and introducing us to lots of friendly local people on the way. We saw lots of wildlife, ate delicious laksa and were constantly looked after by the lovely SJ and John! Your Penang experience will not be complete without this trip. We completed the 1.1 tour which is suitable for all ages and as it's flat so you don't need to worry about fitness levels.
