β β β β β Cool little live music venue, they have some cool music playing there. Food is also decent there. Vegetarian burger is so good, get it with the spicy mayo, it's really awesome. I liked the taste much more than the beef one. I'm not a vegetarian, but I preferred the veggie one here :)

β β β β β Bob Cider got this place recommended by independent artists. Bob Cider contacted Merdekarya to play music there, but apparently Brian Gomez, the owner, doesnβt reply artists who sound better than him.
Merdekarya is just a place for Brian Gomez to boost his failed musicianβs ego.

β β β β β Food: I ordered Nasi Babi Peratal and it was quite delicious. but one caveat, it can use a bit more salt then it will be perfect.
Drinks: THE GINGER BEER IS TO DIE FOR!! I was really tempted to bring some back home but was not in the capacity to do so. Also tried the tuak asamboi and lime, very nice but a tad bit sweet for me.
Ambiance: It's very serene, sitting at The Balcony and just listening to splendid choice of local songs. Hoping I could see live music here someday. What an odd situation that other restaurants can do live music but Merdekarya specifically can't.

Note: Live music starts back in January 2022.

β β β β β Selling bootleg alcohol and pork to Muslims and promoting drunk driving. What else can be said about this unique hole in the wall? That should have been sealed a long time ago with the owners in it. They pay close to nothing and expect everyone to fall in line. What else can be said? They are also selfish and selective, if you don't stroke their egos, you're out. It's usually a matter of time cos most don't last very long around them. High turnover, they have volunteers not paid staff.
This is all speculation, I hear alot of rumours.
I just didn't like their cheap way of doing things.

β β β β β Something different, In a good way!!! Went here for an event "Wicked Liver" was rocking the night. All staffs are very friendly same goes to the crowd. They have 3 different area which equally amazing, the ground floor which is just a bar with amazing decor, first floor the balcony is calming and of course the main event space, which will rock your head super hard.

β β β β β A small-medium sized venue great for 'up close & personal' live music/shows. Not a bad place to chill at all.
Drinks can be pricey, not necessarily worth what they charge for (particularly the mocktails range). If you're a member, probs get better rates. ?
Would visit again to enjoy & support some local acts, or simply just to bask in the ambience of live music. ???
