Regardless whether it is hygienic? this is a must-go-food-stall only you can tell people “I’ve went to Penang for vacation!” proudly ????? this is where you tend to experience no parking lots, no available seats, no aircon, no tissue and eat them dirty-ly kkk ??????

This place look like really one of famous place. Make sure to visit here if you go to penang. Sadly its only open on weekend. So make sure to come if you interest. This is the first time i come and try the asam laksa. Maybe because of the smell really afraid to try at the first time but yes i finished the bown but not the soup haha you will either love it or hate it haha

It’s been more than 10 years since I last come to this place and so happy to find uncle still selling despite last time news saying they close down It’s not the most delicious but definitely give you some sorts of local and chilling vibe whenever you are here Noodle is priced at rm5.50 even in 2022 it’s really affordable considering this is a tourist hotspot Only drawback is the carpark here is quite a nuisance but what do you expect when you’re here as a tourist in Penang right?

Honest review... the assam laksa.... OK laaa..... but is really cheap! Is challenging to get a place to sit here. You literally have to stand next to a table with patrons still dining in to sort of pre-book that table hahaha. Assam laksa is average. Lobak is also average. As for sugar cane drink, nothing can go wrong on a hot sunny day.

?????????????????? WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN! ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS IS BASED ON THE PREVIOUS UNCLE ASAM LAKSA! THE LEGENDARY ASAM LAKSA IS GONE! Food: 0/10 Cleanliness: 0/10 It's not the same as the old uncle asam laksa anymore. The asam laksa stall is now taken over by other people as the old uncle family doesn't want to take over the business. The new owner of this asam laksa stall doesn't know how to cook at all. The asam laksa now taste is diluted and bland. Fish is also not much. Overall, taste really bad.

Been here many many times. Good memory, food still great but you can probably get better asam laksa elsewhere these days without needed to queue and sit nearby the roadside. Though, I will still come back here to eat, beside how food taste is the memory and place.

First time trying asam laksa and I really enjoyed it, the broth is well balanced between sour, spicy and sweetness. I was expecting more sour but pleasantly surprised. Staff were very friendly and helpful to find me a table as I was by myself. Lots of people were staring at me though because I was the only white person in the whole area. The couple I shared a table with were very friendly and said not many white foreigners come to the neighbourhood.

*Parking around this area in general is a challenge (Especially if the morning market is open, and combined with the temple going crowd). If you do decide to drive here, I would recommend parking in the neighbourhood few streets down and just walk over. **If you don’t feel like coming here to have the food, do note that this store is available on AirAsia’s food delivery app so that’s always an option. Ambience: Although not the most comfortable with the cars honking away beside you, I think you’re pretty much already getting the best you can for a roadside stall. There are plenty of tables so you should definitely be able to find a seat in no time. Service: Staff are really friendly and found us a table just when we arrived. Extra condiments were also freely given when requested so that was nice. The drinks stall beside are also really attentive and will quickly come over to take your orders if they see you. Food: There’s a reason why this stall is so popular, and I think the hype is definitely justified. The depth of flavour in the soup is just not something you can find in most stores and you get plenty of ingredients in it too. Price: Pretty reasonable prices, as it was RM5.50 for a bowl. You are definitely getting your money’s worth in this. Conclusion: The food here is definitely top notch and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to sample how Asam Laksa should be like.
