Those who wants to do trekking and hill Trekking freaks definitely would give a try atleast once at PENANG Hill it won't disappoint you for sure. One of the most prominent and major trekking activity with Forest walking and Nature Lush Surroundings of fresh air. It takes little long if new to this area.Routes are well made it with path but guide must be recommended those who comes new to this place or else chances to miss it anywhere. Most Favourite attration in Entire Penang. After the hardest climb it'd be definitely the best view comes and makes you cherish for sure.Once you reach the hill top you can easily get your optional return Back vehicle by tram or car. Then shouldn't miss delicious affordable food and drinks at hill top .

First half hike until middle station mostly steps, the 2nd half mixture of paved and unpaved trail. Nice view from middle and top station.

One of the things which I am glad I did whilst I was in Penang a few years ago was to hike up Penang Hill alone. My friends wasn't so enthusiastic about the idea so they lounged at the hotel pool while I took a Grab from the city to Penang Hill. The path was very well marked and easy to follow and it was fun to see where the trail took me (at times I passed by other people's front door). During the hike, the vista of the island came into view and it was breathtaking (also probably due to my panting and heavy breathing). I was so happy when I reached the top. However, I was exhausted then and decided to come down the hill via the tram ?

We went here to hike until we reached the top. Be prepared for a more than 2 hour hike because it gets tiring as the path is very inclined. However, at the midpoint, you may find a Chinese temple that provides necessities such as toilet, filtered water, cups and bowls, places to sit and etc. Once you have rested, you can resume your journey. The trails were also quite obvious as it was tarred road but sometimes I'd advice you to use Google Maps to guide you. Only when you reach the tops you'd be a little confused as to which path to take but here's a pro tip: if the path is inclined upwards, just go for it. The paths are always leading you upwards. We went in a group of four and it took us about three hours (with occasional resting). The hike was very exhausting, however when we reached the top, we felt relieved and triumphed. We continued taking pictures of the places. Had good food at the nearby restaurants and came down by using cable train that cost us about RM5 (if I'm not wrong).

Hiking Penang Hill is one of the best things to do while in Penang. The trail is easy to navigate and you will be greet by fresh air with stunning scenery. I have encountered a few friendly hill dogs, dusty leaf monkeys and all kinds of tropical fruits along the trail. During the month of April, durian trees at full bloom, a great sight seeing medium size durians hanging on the tree. You will see pineapple trees, bananas, jackfruit and etc. I encourage everyone to do this when in Penang. Bring a hiking shoe, a bottle of water, fresh cloth to change, and a mosquito spray if needed. One of the Best. Highly recommended.

Great hike to burn off energy between meals! Took the heritage trail starting at Lower station and kept going on foot till the Top station. With photo-taking and breaks took slightly less than 2.5 hours.. Bring water and apply mosquito repellent liberally! We used a decathlon walking stick and felt it really helped to protect our old knees while climbing some steeper muddy areas. Too tired to walk back down so hopped onto the tram then paid for the one-way ticket right before the lower station exit gantry ?

Really enjoyed this hike, be prepared with mosquito repellent and suitable footwear. If the forecast is due to be hot and sunny I’d recommend doing it in the morning at a it’s a 2-3 hour hike and can get sweaty. There’s lots of small trails at the top where you can see monkeys and giant squirrels
