This unassuming place serves the best ever koay teow thng in Penang. For just RM4.60, you get a big bowl with lots of condiments. The soup is not oily and you won't get thirsty later, meaning no excessive MSG use. Sometimes, there are many orders and you have to be patient. On weekends, it will almost always be sold out before 10.30am, so go early. Since the wet market is beside it, I sometimes buy a few jumbo-sized prawns and ask the hawker to blanched them for me. She does it at no charge.

I love the dry koay teow, koay teow with thick soy sauce and sambal, and a bowl of soup with pork meatballs, fish cake slices, fish balls and pig liver slices. Beware of the sambal as it's very spicy, should be added incrementally. The nasi lemak and wantan mee are also delicious.

The koay teow soup and dry version are also must try. So nicely done. For the soup version, the broth is so delicious and full of the best aroma of koay teow soup. For the dry version, the dark soy sauce is indeed so evenly distributed. With sambal added to the dry version even enhance the taste to greater height. In the same kopitiam, the nasi lemak also worth trying. Usual penang standard taste nasi lemak

1st class Coffee shop. Both ladies drinks attendees offer no. 1 service. Polite, cheerful, alert & attention to customer requirements goes beyond works. Service better than 5star hotel. Coffee is served in hot traditional coffee shop cup. Thin Broad rice noodles served with lightly flavor pork & fresh vegetables is a delight. Wan Ton noodles & Chinese version of nasi lemak if you prefer dry morning breakfast. May be tight and be prepared to share tables. Call the char Keow teow from another stall & be served in this hospitable coffee shop. Enjoy

Nice, clean family-run coffeeshop at the Taman Free School Market. There are just 3 stalls in the kopi tiam selling wonton mi, koay teow soup & nasi lemak but you can order from hawkers outside as well. The wonton mi here is a crowd favourite, with its old style egg noodles & flavourful soup. The dry version, at RM4.30, comes with a little bowl of wonton & soup. The nasi lemak is a bit pricey but the dishes are tasty & the santan rice very fragrant. Have yet to try the koay teow thng though.
