The Pinang Peranakan Mansion has a beautiful and extensive display of precious items, and the tour guide Stanley, did a remarkable job. Even though it was his day off, he was kind enough to give us a tour of the place. Thanks so much Stanley! We really enjoyed the tour and visiting this beautifully restored mansion.

Was in the area and came here at first just to beat the heat but had no idea we were in store for one of the BEST museum experiences ever! Our guide Stanley did an incredible job and for 68 years old, commands the english-language well, has a great sense of humour and is full of energy. Left the museum full of incredible information about the Peranakan culture and history about this home and its owners. Highly recommended! COVID-19 protocols and best practices were strictly enforced and adhered to by all making for a safe and educational experience.

We initially came here to beat the afternoon heat but ended up finding an educational and engaging experience. We happened to arrive in time for the 1:30pm English tour, and or guide Henry did an excellent job. The tour (included in the ticket fee, as well as entrance to three museums on the grounds) was light, fun and informative, giving just the right amount of detail to keep things interesting, while being open and knowledgeable enough to answer our questions. Had we toured the mansion without a guided tour, it definitely would’ve been a different experience! Jewellery, antique and/or textile buffs will love the collections here, too!

beautiful piece that preserves and showcases peranakan history. there's a free tour guide at designated times so try to come around that time, when i came the next tour guide was at 2:30pm. you can explore on your own but there's not much information board available. better to come by grab/walk as there's not much parking space available. kids ticket at rm10.

The owner did a good job at refurbishing and preserving a piece of important history ! The collection was amazing. I’m really glad that I visited this place, as I finally got to see how it looks inside of a heritage building. I’m still in awe of how rich the Peranakan culture is (and also how loaded someone could be). Throughout the guided tour, it’s apparent that some riches are just unattainable ? Out of reach for peasants like us… Mr. Stanley was an amazing guide to us - an amazing storyteller. The storytelling was so vivid that you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled time. I’m pretty sure he’d repeated it so many times but his enthusiasm was palpable - through the clap of his hands. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Beautiful space - breath-taking and a real joy to visit. The RM20 entry fee is well worth it - it's beautifully maintained and a delight to wander in. I particularly enjoyed the central courtyard and the different tiles throughout the premises, as well as the ancestral hall and the paintings. The pictures don't do it justice - I highly highly recommend you come visit.

It is such a beautiful place jam packed with so much history. The mansion is so huge, you would definitely need to take your time to explore. Bonus: there is a souvenir shop tucked in the back of the mansion. The staff was very friendly and gave us a free short tour of the mansion before we began exploring. The antiques and furniture were well maintained. There are many helpful info boards all around, you just have to keep your eyes out for it. The restoration of the building was done fantastically, making the mansion come to life

I highly recommend it to those traveling to Georgetown. You should never miss this attraction. Entrance fee is affordable at RM20 per adult and totally worth the price. We visited at 10am during a public holiday and just in time for a mandarin tour at 10.30am which is very informative. The mansion is so large that it is hardly noticeable from the outside, and I might have missed some areas without a guided tour. In addition, there are many antiques that are meticulously displayed. I really appreciate the effort of the current owner to preserve this historical and cultural heritage, and presented to the public.
