Unassuming restaurant located on the main road. Blink and you will miss it - it's located diagonally opposite to HLB bank. Firstly food is good. Fare is different from Jeff's Kitchen and SF Seafood. Rule of thumb for restaurants in this area, if they have in this area for so long, food has to be good. Well frequented by the locals living around the area. Rarely do you see outsiders dining here. Specialties for this restaurant seems to be the lala soup. The pork dishes especially the pork fried in superior soya sauces goes well with beer (if only I drink). Great place for dinner! Tip - Parking is opposite the road at the market. Plenty of carpark there. Just walk across the road.

Although the food is tasty but customer service suck. If can I would rated no star on this review. Yesterday afternoon me and my family was around the corner and looking a place to fulfil our hungry tummy. When we step in the restaurant that this mid-age men reluctant to serve us. With his attitude towards customers I'm strongly not recommended to my friends and relatives not to dine in this restaurant. As our government declare FASA 4 and allowed to dine in.... The owner must be appreciate and try to salvage your business and not to chase your customers away.

Mei Kheng is relatively unknown compared to its other well-established neighbors like Jeff Lee Kitchen. However if you are like me, always looking for something new, somewhere else to try out, pop by Mei Kheng and you will be pleasantly surprised. A Chinese cuisine restaurant, it has a surprisingly wide selection on its menu. Prices are listed and reasonable. I tried their pumpkin tofu, their stir-fried French beans with Japanese seaweed and their fu yong tan (egg omelette with siu yoke and onions). All were delicious. There is both a aircond section as well as an external front section for those who prefer sitting outside. The restaurant does not have its own parking, however there are plenty of parking spaces just across from it.

Food is clean and good. Worker there doesn't wear mask & food is overpriced. Worth the pay if you consider good food.

My initial plan was to visit Tai Soon but it wasn't opened when I arrived at the front gate that Saturday. I quickly flipped my list for other restaurants that I could bring the hungry pack for lunch. Mei Kheng was next... Located along one of the main road of this new village, finding a parking spot wasn't easy. Upon looking at their menu, my appetite suddenly opened up. I saw something which I knew that the home minister and I could agree on - one look and she instantly agreed! ◾Shanghai style Ochazuke Seafood 上海式海鲜泡饭煲 - 2 sizes and the dish comes with crab, prawn, lala, mussels, squid, mushrooms, snap pea, carrot, ginger and rice burnt. Since the young ones didn't like seafood, we settled for the small size instead. The soup was brimming with the sweetness from all the seafood, and the rice absorbed the soup making each and every scoop a bliss. All the given seafoods were fresh too! (Other options of this rice style also include (a) whole leg chicken and (b) freshwater prawn & chicken). ◾Kyoto style pork ribs 京都排骨 - something sweet & savoury to munch on while waiting for our order. ◾Fried homemade noodle 家乡生面 - this dish was meant for the young ones but I couldn't resist stealing a few mouthfuls due to the beautiful aroma when it was served. As the restaurant was situated along the main road, it could get noisy with all the cars and lorries passing through and the restaurant wasn't covered nor air-conditioned. However, I had to say that I like what I ate that day... And wowed to go back again if not for the Covid-19 pandemic hindering my plan.
